Subaru of Santa Monica

If anyone is in the area this weekend and wants to see the car like I do, Subaru of Santa Monica is going to have a White pre-production BRZ in the showroom. April 20-22.

Sales guy said no test drives but that would be nice. At least we can sit in it and take a look at everything. I also have my order through santa monica.

Do you know if its going to be the Premium or Limited trim? Also, what exactly does "preproduction" mean? Will it be lacking in features, or will it just not be a sold/sellable car cuz its demo-only??

I believe its a limited but not 100% sure. When I say preproduction, I just meant this is a showroom only car.

Cool, might have to go see this, if I somehow muster up some energy to drive all the way out there haha.

Thanks for the info!

Btw, where do you guys find out that dealers will have demo cars? I can't seem to locate nuttin on subaru.com for these types of issues....Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

I ordered my car through Santa Monica and the sales guy told me then. I called Thousand Oaks subaru to find out if they were going to have one too, and the guy got an attitude with me when I told him Santa Monica was gonna have a showroom car.

I saw the car today at Subaru of S.M. It was white. (Not important, but I thought I'd mention it.) Also, it was an auto tranny with the paddle shifters. This may have been a prototype, but the sales staff said it was a production unit.

Verdict: If this car drives crazy good, I'll be interested. But I did not see anything today that was worth $27,000.

There was another guy there. He was with his gf and said he was a former STI owner. I hope he reports in with his assessment.

So I took a drive to S. M. Subaru today. They had a white premium brz with automatic. I have to say that I really liked the car. I was able to fit my baby in the back seat and wife who is 5'5" 125lbs. in the car too. Wish I could have driven the car but I have to say that even my wife, who doesn't know to much about it, really liked the car.

I was the only one at the dealership from 11-12 yesterday, pretty cool. The car looks amazing, interior materials didn't impress me but it felt great in the driver's seat. Saddened that it was stuck inside the showroom, but stoked to be able to see it for the first time. Can't wait to get my limited CBS on the road!

Hmm, those A/C knobs don't look that bad. And the front bumper is full of WINWINWIN situations. But, isn't the side trim to the left and right of the A/C knobs supposed to be lined with Silver plastic?
