Ballast Making Noise
ballast is making a high pitch noise on one side. anyone else having this problem? or is this normal?

It's normal coming from the ballast; does it for me too...

Most the time when I hear a noise its because there is a short somewhere. I used to hear this on my bike a lot. I would unplug and re plug everything and it would stop. Probably loose connections.

Its because of the cheap transformers they use.
I would not invest in doing this, but you can pot the thing in resin and it will hold the wingdings solid, so no more whining.

Most ballasts should be potted so choke coils shouldn't whine like that?
