where to plug the oil catch can hose... :S
Hi!
I bought a cusco oil catch tank and in the instruction, i can figure where to connect the second hose, the one on the passenger side.. can someone help me? |

If you want to recirculate the exhaust gas, then that hose would attach to the intake where the plug piece that was included in the kit goes. However, since the tubing doesn't match with the stock pieces and isn't very long, you'll have to get creative to make it look good while still connecting securely.
This isn't really necessary to run the car, though, as you can simply have the tube dump down. As long as you check the tank so that oil doesn't overflow into the tube, you'll be fine. It's an emissions thing, though, so if your area checks for the EGR system to be intact, then you will fail upon inspection. But since the MAF sensor is before the EGR connection iirc, it won't flag the ECU and you may pass if the inspection is a simple plug and go test. Also note that some racing tracks and organizations require emission equipment to remain in working condition. I know that for autox, SCCA requires it to remain recirculating for stock and st classes (not sure about the other classes). If I wasn't doing autox, I would simply have it dump down as it looks much cleaner imo without the tubing snaking over the engine. I'll try to snap a picture of mine after work, if I remember :P |

Initially, the tube from the catch can was zip-tied to the tube circled in red, only further down and out of sight, and dumping the fumes straight down. This was a very clean look, but I had to recirculate to stay legal in stock class for autox. As I didn't have time to meander around home depot to figure out how to recirculate and make it look nice, I took it to a local shop and their quick jerry-rigging work is highlighted in yellow. ya, sorry... lack of sleep, not good thinking...
I meant that I had it tied to that tube going down so that it didn't flail about. The tube itself (the one from the catch can) was just dumping downward. Looked a lot better than how it looks now, but not exactly the most environmentally (or track) friendly way to do it though. ok it only deviate the system on the intake tube...
if you plug it into the sound generator your car will be very quiet... even boring... -_- I've initially plug it on the noise generator, but I feel like something wrong... thanks for the tips guys! |

I'd like to add that it is important to retain the PCV system functionality as it is an important system. It provides airflow through the crankcase to keep your oil from turning acidic, and also helps preserve your piston rings by creating a vacuum in the crankcase under normal driving.
