On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

Buffalo Bore makes beefy stuff.

The guy I bought my Colt Anaconda from said he's shot Buffalo Bore 340gr. .44 Magnum rounds with it, with no problems. :P

They normally do. But last I looked, they didn't make JHP's. I could be misremembering.

Double Tap is what I've run... 700+ lbf loads, but with my G20C it like shooting 9mm. I have a Dillon reloader and lots of 10mm brass from Double Tap and bullets though...powder be the issue.

My personal M1911 bane is the rotten recoil spring plug. I've launched that bastard across the room multiple times (and once off the balcony).

First thing, what's the intended use? Second thing, go to a store and hold various guns to see what's comfortable. Third thing, go to a range and rent several of the guns you've decided are comfortable. Fourth, heavily consider a target style .22LR (Browning Buckmark, Ruger 22/45, Ruger MK III) as your actual first purchase. Fifth, make an informed purchase.

Sixth, stay away from 40SW as your first handgun caliber.

Intended use is just to take the range , I've done a very small amount of research and know that a handgun for self defense purpose is different than one I would take to the range to practice with. But thank you for the tips to get me started!
