They're mechanics for our bodies. They probably do more guessing than auto mechanics, though.

They'd probably prefer we didn't realize that.

Take that guy who really explained things to you; I'll bet he has far fewer malpractice lawsuits brought against him than most. And not because he's a more skilled surgeon. Because he's a better "doctor." Something for you to remember in the coming years, Anthony.

People are not "units" to be worked on.

I was actually able to relate to it and imagine myself doing the same thing. I think I would enjoy it a lot!

...then suddenly one day about a year later I spontaneously realized that's what I wanted to do.

But, before you actually venture down that path, Anthony, do your homework. Interview the older docs, etc. Take a long hard look at where you are likely to be financially. Twenty years in ... are you going to be happy and where you want to be?

Or, might you still be buried in debt and working for a decent, but unimpressive salary and living modestly?

My cardiologist says he doesn't think he will ever be able to retire. He's all but speechless at the prospect of what government healthcare (Obamacare) will do to his future. This guy is in his fifties, and he's a genius. He's one of those truly towering intellects.

The future prospects for doctors, especially financial prospects, is not what it once was for doctors. Surgeons are at the top of the pecking order, but still...

In my experiance, when an attractive woman is working out nearby or watching me while I bench press I do tend to push out more reps than normally do.
