I work down the road, and pass at least twice a day, Z1 and their lot full of Z cars not to mention getting to see them running the roads around me constantly.

I'm hoping they get their hands on one of these early. It will be interesting to see what they do with it.

I can definitely see this happening for the Z.

The dry weight is a bummer! With fluids it usually adds 150-250 lbs so expect weight to be 3450 base.

Why is dry weight even important to anyone? It's only a way to superficially lower the realistic weight.

It's like saying the 86 weighs 2600 lbs.

If they saved a lot on R&D and tooling by reusing most of the chassis and major components, including the transmission and some of the other stuff like differentials and the like, plus the engine is from the Q, it isn't impossible to think a base price of around $35K is possible if they are trying to make the car attainable.

Yes, the opposite of what Toyota did by hooking up with BMW. Maybe a partnership with Nissan would have been a smarter bet . But we'll see.

Also, still waiting to hear about a turbo-4. I can't imagine it isn't in the pipeline.

https://www.400zclub.com/forum/threa...sion-more.147/

The Z35 will still be a "Fairlady Z" in Japan, all other markets the Z35 will be called "Nissan Z"

MSRP: $34,995 (this is for the base with 0 options)
There will be 2 packages
- Base: 0 options.
- Type S: Brembos, thicker sways, coolers, other stuff.
- Type T: Leather, Power Seats, Heated and Cooled, Auto cruise, blind spot, etc
- Type ST: Both S and T Packages
- Each package will be roughly 5k each, ST will set you back 10k

Base gets Akebonos, Sport or Nismo get the Brembos - No more floating calipers.

All cars get...
- The 400hp Flavor of VR30DDTT
- The Digital Dash
- Android Auto / Car Play
- Rear Duckbill

Dry Weight = 3,252lbs

The Auto we're seeing on the Gunmetal and Silver cars is the Mercedes-Benz 9G-Tronic, no more 7 speed.
- Yes, it's still a torque converter Auto
- No, it's not as nice as the ZF8 (based on what I can find online, I've never driven anything with this transmission personally)
- It's better than the Jatco 7spd we all know now
- This transmission is already in the Titan and it will soon be in every Nissan / Infiniti RWD vehicle (including the Qs)

Yes, this car really is a 370Z with a Body Kit and a VR30 Swap and the chassis was massaged.......heavily (more aluminum, more bracing, carbon fiber)
- "370Z Sport" is the new "Base" (thicker sways, wider forged wheels, etc)
- "370Z Nismo" is the new "Sport" (even wider wheels, thicker sways, bracing)
- There is a Nismo version coming....it won't just be a body kit, exhaust, tune and some badges this time

The 6 spd manual is a carryover from the 370Z

There are 3 USDM Production cars in the US for a Dealer's Meeting and for journalist afterwards to review.

White 2 Tone: Stick, Sport, no pics have leaked (yet)
Silver 2 Tone: Auto, Touring
Gunmetal: Auto, Base

There is not a roadster in the cards right now, sorry folks.
Nissan is gunning for the Supra and the Mustang but it's main target is the Supra - make no mistake.
I don't have Nismo Info other than "Brembos" and "Baby GT-R"

Colors:
All 2020 370Z colors will carry over for the first year with additions of Yellow and that new Orange they are so proud of. They are going all in with the 240Z nostalgia on this one so don't be shocked if we see some "Heritage" colors down the line.]

Disappointing if they are indeed reusing the same old platform but if it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess. Still looking forward to what this car will bring to the table.

The 370z was always a stiff car and great engine, just always heavy. I think it would be awesome if during reskin they did find ways to lighten the girl up a bit.

At either rate I am for the Supra if it comes with a manual. I do not like the looks of this Z unless it looks way better in person.

The new Z looks nice, but what I would really love to see is a new Silvia that would still weigh around 27xx lbs. The twins need some competition.

Different goals. Toyota wanted an inline six from the get go, so the Supra was a Supra and not just a rebadged ISF with their V8. This meant teaming up with BMW for a performance inline six, and that inherently meant premium, but even if that wasn't the case, they didn't want to make an 86 quality vehicle with a larger engine, which is what the Z is in terms of features and quality. They were shooting upmarket more to differentiate the 86 and Supra by making the Supra more premium. The Supra slightly undercuts the M2, Corvette and Cayman, while offering a similar-enough, premium, sporty car.

At one point I did a list of features comparing the 86 to the Supra 2.0, so it was clear that the Supra isn't just an 86 with a turbo. I personally would rather have the stick, so that means I would take a Z over the Supra, but I also tend to prioritize performance over premium features, which I can easily modify later with aftermarket upgrades, so the Z wins again, for me, but for many premium sports car buyers, the 2.0 and 3.0 Supras offer a good deal compared to the competition by offering a premium, sporty car at a price that is lower than the competition.

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...3&postcount=36

These are the features on the 2.0 Supra. At $43K, how does it compare to a potential base Z at $35k (est.) or to a $43k spec'ed version? We will see, but considering the audience here, most of these premium features might not hold the same value compared to your average Supra buyer:
