Best drop-in replacement speakers

It's been a long time since i've followed car audio. I've been away from the scene and wanted to get your opinion(s) on what's the best value 3-way components to put into the BRZ/FRS.

Here's the criteria:
1. Would prefer these to drop in with little to no modifications
2. Would prefer to use the factory amp and the factory crossovers so these speakers have to be efficient and not need a lot of power to drive
3. Hoping for lightweight but will settle for something heavy if they can be efficient (typically heavy and efficient don't go together)
4. Hoping to stay within a <$500 budget. These things have gotten expensive over the years!

I'm no stranger to good speakers like Dynaudio but I don't want to spend that much and don't want to have a big amp to power these. I just need something *better* than stock that don't crap out at every bass note.

Here's what I found on ebay. Half of these companies I recognize like Focal, Soundstream, PPI, and JL Audio. Some of these others are "?" Any thoughts or additional recommendations? I wish Alpine or Pioneer made a decent entry level 3-way component set.

I like the Hertz out of those choices, the HSK over the ESK preferably but they probably wouldn't have enough power on the stock amp. I think you can probably eliminate any of them that use a 4" mid i don't think it will fit without some cutting.

I am doing something similar, i added a powered sub and am changing out my 3" and 6.5" speakers. I have a pair of H Audio Trinity 3" midrange that will handle the dash, stock tweeters will be disconnected this is a wideband driver that will play up to 20k hz. The doors are 2ohm factory speakers and i found a pair of Image Dynamics CX62's mids to replace them. The only other 2ohm drivers i found i liked are the JBL Power mids you can get direct from Harmon for $69 each.

Any other questions you have my number or post here.

edit: link for the mids..

you could also do a 3.5 coaxial in the dash with those mids; hertz, infinity, and jbl make some decent looking ones.

and here is a 3" 4ohm wideband driver if you want to check it out...

No problem i have already changed my mind so many times on the stereo for this car but i think it's going to work out ok. I also didn't want to add a lot of weight and just wanted something better than factory, nothing competition level.

I'm going into my friends shop on Thursday to have Focal speakers installed for the entire interior of my car. I'll let everyone know how it sounds compared to stock and the setup I'm going with.
