Before long, the muffler is removed and two huge sections are cut from the rear OEM bumper.

I had a friend help and he couldn't believe I was taking to it with a saw blade hahaha.

It was all worth it when I see the final result of the new TRD muffler and TRD rear bumper fitted.

Next up was the TRD front bumper, which was way easier in comparison!

Finally the side skirts were fitted. All the big stuff was out of the way, so next were some minor (just for looks) upgrades.

Front and rear badges were sprayed in "Plastidip". This stuff is absolutely amazing. If you have never used it, go buy a can. It can do wonders even in the most inexperienced hands.

The OEM boot spoiler comes with body coloured ends although the main part of the wing is always matt black on all cars.

Out came the Plastidip again!

I couldn't find any illuminated door sills for the 86, so I improvised. These are actually front grill badges and not expensive. Yes another pointless mod, but I still like it.

Cant really see them during the day, but at night they look good. Wired to the same circuit as the lights in each door, so they only come on when you open the door. I know the FRS has the lens in the door, but no wiring to it.

That's pretty much it so far. Added the 18" TRD wheels I had from my other 86 and this is how it looks at the moment.

Still looking at other things for the future.

What are your initial impressions on the door handle guards in terms of quality and durability over time?

Great build BTW, very well done.

Thanks.

They are a genuine TRD part from Japan. To me they look of great quality and they have a textured feel when you run your fingers across them. They cost $40 for the pair. In TRD terms that seems cheap when you look at some of their stuff haha, but yeah I would recommend them to anyone who might be interested in them.

NOTE: The adhesive backing is VERY sticky and you have to take your time when fitting if you want them lined up properly. Once they stick they not going to come off.
