The more I read threads about these cars, the more I realize the sweet spot for these cars is about 240 whp. After that it seems like the next logical step is a used car that comes from the factory with a six or eight cylinder engine.

I do know that a drifter will use the power.
That is why I asked.
What about with a gearing change for street use? Would that help at all?

With 500 to 600hp gearing in our 2,000lb cars is not the problem. It is trying to get it to the ground. Lower gearing means going through the gears faster and traction is still the problem, higher would mean higher top speed but still you need traction. We changed the gearing in the Noble to reduce top speed from over 200 to 180. This was really a safety move as any driver will tell you "if its there, use it".
You must drive with you right foot, modulate not just on the floor.
The other car becomes less stable over 160mph, I put a splitter on it but needs a wing. I just could not do that to the looks of the car. I am no longer competitive and my son does not like driving that one at speed.

To be blunt; I am old and driving at high speed is no longer a wise or safe thing to do. I have had many hours of fun doing it, I would like to think at this point I know my limits.

This is one of the fun features of our cars. You can drive it hard with your right foot on the floor a lot of the time and not end up in jail.

Kind of funny how almost two years later Toyota brought us closer to this number.
