18x8.5 with 235x35 on all 4 corners OR 18x8 front + 18x9.5 back 235/35 + 255/35 back
would 18x8.5 with 235s work on all 4 corners with no rubbing?
Is the 255 on the back going to be too big?

Yes. This car does not need staggered tires.
The ideal tire size is probably 225/40x18 on 18x8. Anything bigger will just ruin the car. Toyota just released a Sport edition (TRD) in Europe equipped with just this wheel and tire package. Big = heavy= bad ride and bad handling. Fit the smallest and lightest wheels and tires that will do the job. Serious drivers will just buy light 17x8 wheels and fit serious 225/45x17 tires like Michelin Supersports. (I'm seriously considering just using the brand new Michelin Pilot A/S 3 to get the great Supersport tire carcass with an all season tread compound. This car lacks enough power to exceed the suspension limits on the crapola stock tires so really serious rubber would be a bit overkill). If you're not afraid of the rain then fit Michelin Sport Cup 225/40x18 onto 18x8 and go play. Anyone who really knows will look at your Sport Cups and no dents in the fenders (from going off track) and know you're a driving god. Last edited by Suberman; 09-14-2013 at 10:41 AM. |

The car came with a square stance. If you don't mind understeer, and are looking for a sexy car, then go staggered. If you want to keep the driving dynamics and have some extra grip, do the square 18x8.5 all around. Plus it looks really nice even without stagger.
Don't know how 8.5 will affect steering feel, but with 8 inch wide tires, they seemed to affect it positively(car and driver did a test) so 8.5 should be fine. |

I run 18x8.5s square and 18x9.5 rears, 18x8.5 front setups, hardly see a difference, again... just my own personal experience.
