Paint stains easily?

Not sure if it's the frs paint being soft, but I feel that it stains very easily. Granted, I have the whiteout. Also, I have 5 yellow stains on my hood that I cannot remove as it has seeped into the clearcoat. I think the previous owner did not remove these stains for a while. Anyone else with this problem? I never had these issues with my previous cars

This happens to me from time to time, but I usually get it early enough with a detail spray (I keep it and a microfiber in my truck). If that doesn't work, then it usually gets out when I wash it during the weekend. Maybe a claybar will do the job?

claybar only removes stuff above the clearcoat... i compounded and polished the whole car a few weeks ago, and these spots are the only ones I could not get rid of... thinking of soaking WD40 onto a rag and letting that sit and see if that helps the next time I wash the car... it pains me that every spot of pollen/tree sap/ tar smears around the paint so easily...

The paint on these cars is on the garbage side of things

Can confirm, paint stains easy even with the newer models. I have not found a way to remove the tree sap stains; only thing I can think of is to wipe it off asap, or park in a garage.

Well, I have a 2013 FR-S whiteout and haven't noticed a staining problem.

However, if my car did have a stain and I had already tried soap and water to get it out .......... my next strategy would be to try some alcohol.

If that didn't do the trick, I'd follow up with a little Clorox bleach.

If that didn't work, I'd be tempted to take it into a detail shop ......

Really? More so than any other modern car sprayed with waterborne paint?

The industry had to make a major change due to VOC emissions and it will take time to catch up.

The paint is more brittle, not "soft"

i do my own detailing... not a pro, but I can get 80% of a detail shop's results with my DA polisher and detailing supplies... why pay a shop to do it when u can DIY for a lot less?

i heard abt the VOC emissions, but if all manufacturers are affected, why is it that only the frs' paint is so 'brittle' and stains easily? i have a 2016 honda odyssey as well and the paint is on-par with all the cars i've had prior

I have a Honda Pilot and the paint is poor IMO. It's not just the FRS.

EDIT: Only the front bumper is poor on my FRS. This paint doesn't like plastic...The rest of the car shines.

I'm not having any staining issues. I'd be taking it to the dealer if I was.

What do you figure is staining ... ?? Some coating on top of the clear coat, the clear coat or the paint under the clear coat......??

Can you capture a picture ....??

(or did I miss it above .. ??)
