Tune it out!

Follow the same instructions that steve99 posted -- There's more info in this thread, which is what I used to tune mine out.

Here's the difference it makes on my car...

The reason these cars have loud cold starts is because they retard timing (among other things) after start to heat up the cats quickly. When you have a catless header, most tunes don't change the post start timing which is what causes the rasp. As @steve99 said, you can tune out most of the bark.
My car, for example, has a Borla UEL, stock op/fp, Invidia midpipe and a Vibrant muffler.

My tuner told me he tried to eliminate the loud cold start as much as he could
Should i tell him the problem? Or do i need a complete retune

Get the new front pipe installed and then see what you think. Not much sense worrying about the current set up just to add a piece later.

Get tuner to make these changes and reflash id even go to max base idle speed of 1200 instead of 1400. If you dont alter the Maf offset after start tables car will continue to idle fast at startup. These changes wont effect rest of tune ust startup, but you would ned to reflash

Loads and loads and loads of them are.
Just saying there is no point trying to tune out a sound and then change the exhaust again. Finish the exhaust. See how it sounds. Then work on tuning out the cold start noise.

I reckon any worries would be complying with any local vehicle emission standards.

The car don't care .....

The hks dual resonated is going to be louder than OEM. If you want a catless front pipe, and for it not to be loud, should have went with the fujitsubo dual resonated front pipe.

Heads up: Any after-market front pipe will be louder and introduce more rasp than stock.

Also: If you run catless your cold starts with be even more obnoxious. The cold-start reduction tuning does help significantly though.
