@celek .. being patient sucks! Do you think that with just upgraded valve springs the stock engine can safely rev to 9k as just a DD with 1-2 track days a year? You're sending out your oil pump for some work, correct? Are you also doing a bunch of head work?

Ferrera Make some nice Valves Springs and retainers, I will probably go that route.
ON a stock engine yes springs are a must, others have shimmed the stock springs for more seat pressure prior to aftermarket options being available,

Plans are 1mm over valves, Cams, Springs, retainers, TINY port work, these head flow almost perfect from the factory. You can look in the intake port and see the back of the valve, it is almost a straight shot so the flow is good.

I will also be looking at the Rockers as they have been a problem.

I'm sure you've seen this thread with Revvolution, but they managed to open up the exhaust ports quite a bit.. intake wasn't much.

Do you know of anyone making aftermarket Rocker options? I do remember reading about them being hit or miss from the factory and coming loose/off!

Do you think that an accumulator would be a good idea without any other oil pump work to get a little extra help at higher RPM?

exhaust ports will be opened up a little but the issue is supported aftermarket header, Not going to be larger than what is available, Also still need back pressure NA. Turbo is a bit different.

No aftermarket rocker options as of yet although I have been offered by a company to have custom billet ones made but not for a price I am willing to pay at this time.

As for oiling looking at the Reimax gear replacement and a little flow work done to the front case.

Honestly revving up to 9000+ rpm on a 1.5:1 ratio concerns me(hence why I'm watching this thread to see the outcome). thats right there at the bottom end of the scale for "ideal" ratio on just a regular engine(non high revving). It just sucks there's absolutely no way to get a long rod into these engines without signi***ently reducing the stroke.

What's your top rings distance from the top of the piston? Looks close if not over .250" wich is nice. When you were dreaming this up did you ever think of using a gapless top ring and removing the second ring to let you move your oil ring up over the pin? I've been considering this for my build just to try and get a little longer rod by allowing the piston to be shorter then 1"( danger zone lol)

Stock RS ratio is 1.5:1 mine will be 1.51:1 with the stroke.
Plenty of people have run 9000RPM biggest failure is in NA form its pointless, Turbo they can make the power up there,
Cams should at least support 8500
The monster K series drag honda's making 400 WHP NA are running 2.6ltr stroker kits at 1.4:1 ratios revving high.

Reason not to go to 9000 RPM is stock internals can not take the forces, we wont have stock internals or anywhere near the limitation.

As for the oil ring it has a support ring to go over the missing material. The wristpin in 1/2 the width of the piston so it will not interfere with the oil ring.

I thought about piston buttons but it added a bunch to the cost of the piston.

This is the oil ring support setup

Can't wait to see how this turns out. Doing a NA build is what I want to do down the road.

You need proper scavenging.

Correct but what I was saying is I will not be having the exhaust ported beyond the available supported diameter of aftermarket exhaust manifolds. Although some people have remove large amounts of port material on the exhaust side, going to big can hinder the performance of the engine, especially in NA form
