The last three cars I've owned:

2009 STI

2011 GTI

2013 FR-S

I guess I'm due for another in 2015. Joking, actually hoping to stay with the FR-S and GTI for a while.

The first car I ever drove was my mom's 1991 Nissan Stanza. Awesome car for a 16-year-old, but I spent most of my time driving my dad's 1986 Nissan pickup. RWD, no power steering, bench seat... eh, it was pretty fun too.

I don't have pictures of the truck. The Stanza was eventually handed down when my mom got a new car, so I was able to do this with it:

Eventually that car developed leaky valves and worn out synchros. It had 180,000 miles on it, so it was time to go. I couldn't decide between a new Sentra SE-R Spec V (which would be like the Stanza on crack) or a used 240 SX or FC RX-7. But then I drove something that really surprised me, and found out about a really strong community of enthusiasts. I was sold:

Several years later, I had graduated college, moved up to NoVA, and was making a ton more money. I figured a back seat, a little more trunk space, and a little more power was a good idea:

This was an absolutely fantastic car. I never had any mechanical issues, flooding, or any of the other problems people complain about with rotaries. But after 2 years, what I did have was rust. Lots of it in the wheel wells. Apparently the liner material there absorbs water... and anyway, I wasn't using the back seats or extra trunk space, and the power was fun, but not nothing I couldn't live without.

Back to the basics:

My current Miata is a 2002 Emerald Green Mica 5-speed base with the sport package, even less impressive than my old 2001 LS. But it's got fewer miles on it and still has the Torsen, and I got a nice pair of katzkin seat covers for it with heaters. I plan to hold onto this one for many years to come.

I find it impressive the number of non-BRZ/frs owners on the forum.
