Im considering getting oem audio. I wanted to know if you have a recomendation on headunit to replace my stock 2013 one. The unit works fine except the bluetooth is shit. Sometimes it pairs in 10 seconds. Sometimes it wont pair an entire drive. I'm fed up with it and if i have to take apart yhe dash to install oem might as well replace it.

Do you have the standard non-touch 2013 unit? We would recommend the Pioneer AVIC, NEX, AVH Series of units (many options there to choose. From mild to wild)

Does the amo have an effect on the whole system? I currently have the sub and amp removed but the problem started while installed

To follow up I went to reinstall everything and it is working again. One of the plugs must have pulled loose. I also replaced the screws with bolts/nuts/washers since the mounts were totally stripped. Figure this will alleviate any issues going forward.

I will say driving around without the OEM+ set-up working really made me appreciate how good it sounds all over again lol

Installed the System 450Q the other day with a friend. Ran into a small issue where 1 step in the instructions was a tad confusing/misleading. Called OA+ at 8:30PM and they answered and explained the mix up, and told us to call back anytime in the night if we run into any other issues. Everything else went without a hitch! Definitely helped to have a friend helping with the install.

Bass sounds clean and crisp without overpowering everything else.

My EQ is set to flat (13 BRZ) like the instructions said, but has anyone experimented with the EQ settings to tailer it to different kinds of music?

Is this the Reference? I just placed my order for a Reference 450Q on Saturday. The website lists it as a pre-order so I'm not expecting anything for a while. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and it will ship from stock?

After reviewing head units online, I don't see a particular need to replace the stock 2013 BRZ head unit w/ this audio setup. Anyone disagree?

This system is intended to be used with the stock HU. That said, I could imagine more than a handful of reasons to replace the stock unit.

I control everything from my phone over Bluetooth anyway...From directions to music to taking calls...Don't really see the need for all the redundant features on most modern head units but maybe I'm missing something?

Scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday). I'll post up my impressions when I'm done. So far it looks good and your 'pre-sale' wasn't much of a wait.

The install went well. It took about 5 hours working casually, being careful and adding a little bit of sound deadening. Subwoofer won't go in easy right now. I cannot get both threaded holes aligned at the same time. I'll work on it again tomorrow. The factory rubber trunk liner will need to be removed or modified also.

First impression? Sounds great. Every part of the spectrum is cleaned up and clearer. You would be hard pressed to get better sound at the $1500 price point using new gear. You might get there by scrounging Ebay and Craigslist, but then the design and install time would be at least 5x that of installing the OEM+.

I'll have more to say tomorrow, I'm headed to a Midnight Oil concert with the family tonight...yep....I'm an old guy.
