Exclamation Need help with spoiler sizing options

Hi there,

TL;DR: Need help choosing spoiler size as it’s not cheap and I wanna make the right choice. Getting a Voltex type 2, the options are as follows; 1400mm or 1500mm width, 270mm or 300mm depth, 225mm height?

I’m new here so sorry if these questions have been answered somewhere, I’ve read the please read posts and I searched for answers but haven’t found anything that was relevant. I’m just looking for advice and opinions of what would look good and what you guys have/ had.

So basically I’m very unsure on the sizing of the spoiler I’m planning on getting. My car is not a track car yet and I’m deciding based on looks. I’m planning on getting the Voltex type 2 from Nengun Performance and they’re offering a few different size options. First thing is 1400mm or 1500mm width. I want something that isn’t sticking out past the side of the car, and looks symmetrical (best word I can think of at this point). I’m thinking the 1500mm as I will likely go for a wide body in the future.

Next thing is depth, 270mm and 300mm are the options. I’m not really sure how the whole depth even works, so yeah.

Last thing is height. There’s 4 options for this; 165mm, 195mm, 225mm, and 245mm. I was thinking one of the taller ones as I would also like to get a duck lip spoiler underneath it (in the long run). But I’m not really wanting the look of a satellite on the back of my car, so I don’t want it too high if that makes sense.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can attach some photos of my car if that would help anyone.

Just get a tape measure and go hold it up to get an idea of how it'll look. There are 25.4mm in every inch. If you're deciding on looks then that's personal and only you can decide. I like big wings(you're looking at buying a wing, not a spoiler, they're different), other people like small wings, some don't like any wing. Width and depth are pretty simple. I wonder if height is mount height, or height to the top of the wing though...

I don’t know why I haven’t thought of that myself. Thanks for letting me know they’re different, I wasn’t aware of this. The height is based on bracket length i believe. I suppose I should use a measuring tape to see how tall that would be.

Go watch a YouTube video about the differences. Then you can impress (or annoy) people when they call it a spoiler

Why do you want a wing like that? Is it for looks?

Well, the wider, deeper, and taller your wing is, the slower your car will be due to drag.

If your car is going to used for competition driving (autocross/time attack); the size of the wing will be limited by the rule set of the club/organization you will be competing in.

If your car is for show; the bigger the better. Especially if you will have a wide body kit. Get the biggest one available.

Sure. But it's function over form. Big front wings aren't exactly uncommon on higher level time attack cars. If you need more front down force there are only so many options
