Have you figure it out? I'm doing the same thing but no one seems to know how.

When it comes to wiring the white wire for DRL, tap into the resistor positive so it will come on as DRL. Otherwise if you leave it in the plug, the LED strip will be on all the time at full power and blind others at night.

I've just swapped out my base headlights for the Monogram/RS lights. Most of the steps you see online are for the JDM headlights which are 8-pin connectors with 7 active leads (pins). The US RS lights are also 8-pin connector but with 6 active leads.

To answer your question, you will re-use (or buy new from Toyota/Subaru) the 6-pin connector from your base headlights.

This is the pin-out for the 6-pin connector that you will re-pin to your RS headlights...

---- TAB ----
| 3 | 2 | 1 |
------------------
| 6 | 5 | 4 |

1 = yellow - high beam +
2 = black (thicc) - headlight gnd
3 = red (thicc) - headlight +
4 = blue - high beam gnd
5 = black - led gnd
6 = white - led +

Alternatively, you can tap the DRL from the resistor (steps found on the JDM headlight install).

So I install everything but the drl is still coming in even after the lights are turned on. I'm assuming one of the ground is wrong?? I also wired the custom wire to the 12v from the resistor.

From the looks of it, you have pin 6 connected to parking + lead. If you want the headlight LEDs as a DRL like OEM RS/Monogram, you have to connect the resistor + to pin 6 on the headlight connector.

Hmm.. I'm wondering how I will do that. I currently have a wire hooked up to the 12v green resistor wire atm.

You either have power coming from the resistor + or the parking +. From photo #2, do you have both power sources connected to pin 6??

It should be one or the other. Things go bad when there are two power sources on the same circuit.

It's weird because whwn I took it off. The drl is still lighting when the headlights turn on. I'll go ahead and take the wire out

So there's no need for the white wire from the monogram/rs to be plugged into the 6pin connector? Since I'm using the 12v resistor wire.

Man that's hard to do. The resistor wire is so short. I'll work it out. Thanks for the help!
