I like stage 2+, and the UEL header. I wouldn't bet on my going E85, but if I do, it will be in my build thread, linked below. I posted a brief impression of the progression from stock>stage1>stage2+ there today.

Hey all. Had a noob question;

So im a new owner of a 2015 BRZ and was wondering if a new OFT would still work if the car has already been tuned prior to my purchase. I obviously do not have contact with the previous owner and so I am not sure what the car is tuned to, or what they used to do it. Car runs fine no issues however it's just kicking around in the back of my head not knowing for sure what the car is doing CPU wise. Can I just buy a new OFT and overwrite whatever the car is tuned to now with their own OFT specs? Or do I have to get it reflashed to factory and then try OFT? Thoughts?

Yes, OFT can read the current tune as the ‘original’. Then you can load other tunes on or swap back the ’original’ if needed. OFT does not need to start with a stock tune.

I'm stuck trying to upload a tune to the new OFT I just bought, direct from OFT. I've read my ECU, and uploaded a copy of the stock ROM to the OFT tune request form. I was under the impression, from pre-purchase questions, that the tune for my 2020 Hakone was GTG, but my CALID ZA1JV00C00G yields no results when I search the help page as directed. I downloaded the 2017 Stage 1 US MT tune available on the site, but get the error above when I try to upload the tune to the OFT. I shut down Windows Defender as directed when I DLed/installed OFT manager, and it seemed to update fine. I also installed this patch from the OFT help page (vcredist_x86...), then re-started OFT manager, as instructed. I am not using USB 3.0. Help page next step is to uninstall/re-install OFT manager? I have limited tune experience, but have used FTECU to tune my '16 Yamaha R1. That process required some wiring work on the ECU connector, but was still done in under an hour. I've spent at least 2 hours attempting to flash with OFT, and it's frustrating...do I have to wait until they send me a file matched to my CALID?
Hey did you end up getting the tunes for your 86? I'm having the same problem with not being able to find the stage 2+ tune for my za1jv00c00g calibration code

Hey, you can complete the following form to get the tune files https://www.openflashtablet.com/free...-file-request/

I did it earlier this week and got the files in 24h. I suppose the files for the calibration code za1jv00c00g are already done, just not public on the website.

Sorry for the question but not reading 90 pages of this thread. Do you mount the OFT for on the fly changes and readouts or is OFT something you set and then put it back in the box till you need to change something?

Just copy, write and drive. Mount it if you want to see what your engine is doing. Otherwise you can put it away like I did after flashing the ECU.

Ive seen alot posts come and go about worse throttle response after tuning, ive noticed this to everytime i apply a new tune, no problem with this.

Ive now had my tune on for almost 6 months and i think its actually TOO good throttle respons, the gas is so twitchy and sensitive i have to be so careful when applying gas for it not to jerk. Going on and off the gas gets really annoying with the car jerking all the time because the gas is so twitchy. I have to be so careful and strain my foot so hard because im trying to go so slow when applying the gas.

Can i alter this to a less aggresive throttle response somehow? I just use the stock Stage 2+ tune.
