It's a pain in the ass trying to source all new connectors, so what I can find, I'll change, for those that cannot be purchased, such as the ECU connectors n stuff, I'll be sure to be as careful as I can depinning them.

Either way, as I wait for more parts to come in, I'm trying to organize the main bulkhead 'interior' harness for now.

It's tedious work, but I'm sure this will be one of the cleanest wire tucks I have done yet...and I've done a few that were .

So previous to what I was doing, I decided to scratch that, and build my harness a different way.

As you saw, I would mock the harness with nylon rope, measure, cut, and loom my wire harness outside of the vehicle...well, I'm not going to do it like that anymore.

Instead, I am building the harness as I go, from clip to clip within the car.

Why, might you ask?

Well, it was very difficult to account for approximate lengths due to the wires bending as I would install them, which made it difficult towards exact lengths...yes, I could have dealt with minor overages but then my OCD kicks in and I can't do it.

I have always been a perfectionist, which drives me nuts, but then I look back and realize that my life would not have been the same as it is now.

Regardless, I am running the wires and looming them on the go.

The difficult thing with this way is that I have to get everything correct on the first go or else I'd have to start over, and/or redo that harness location.

Either way, I found that this is the best way for me to be exact with my lengths, which makes for a much cleaner install.

I pretty much have a pattern that I found to help and as long as I take my time to think a few steps ahead, I'll be alright.

I do like the way this harness is coming out thought, therefore, I have scrapped the previous harness designs torn them apart, and will start another.

Although this project is moving along, it is not moving as quickly as I anticipated.

The difficulty I am having is trying to source the correct pin terminals and/or the exact connectors.

Subaru does not sell each connector via open source nor do they make it easy to locate them.

I've searched multiple websites and seem to spend more time looking for parts than I do wiring the car .

Either way, I have alternative options such as going with Deutsch connectors, which I have plenty of!

For a handful of the connectors though, I am SOL, because they are ECU connectors, which means I have no other choice but to use them.

What I am trying to do is pin new terminals with a new wire directly into those connectors, however, trying to de-pin some of them is quite difficult.

So my conundrum is being perfect with a completely new pin out rather than tapping into those wires whether it be crimp, solder, etc...

So who knows, maybe I just might have to sacrifice a few OCD feelings by doing so...but until then, I am doing my best to do it my way, which is all "new"

So yeah, doing it my way is taking a bit longer than expected , but I know in the end I'll be much happier.

Any idea yet how you're planning to shelf all of these components? Are you having the subs face the front or back?

The subs will be facing forward and will be enclosed in a custom plexiglass/carbon fiber sealed box.

I am using the cabin of the car as the main sub-enclosure this way it does not blow my carbon fiber trunk off the hinges lol.

I am doing a rear seat delete, possibly with the Seibon carbon fiber kit??

Still undecided, because I am still trying to stomach the courage of coughing up $2400 only to cut it up and mount my amps & subs into it

Finally got around to pulling out the engine harness.

Next steps are to marry up the interior and engine harness throughout my dash frame.

Still not sure if I am going to bring the fuse box in the vehicle or just modify its location to where the battery once was.

I guess once I start laying down the foundation I'll see what I'm working with and decide from there.

At that price point I can't imagine a fully custom rear "seat" would be much more. Plus that doesn't factor in all the modifications to be done to the Seibon piece.

I'm just doing away with the rear seat altogether because there will be roll cage in the way and that's where my amp rack will be.

The reason why I like the Seibon delete kit is because the rear bottom panel looks like a great match for my amps to be seated.

I'd pretty much cut out that rectangle area that is raised a bit and use that area to embed my 3 Rockford amps.

I saw another rear seat delete, which is like $450ish and is carpeted, however, my rear third brake light area is upholstered and that kit will not allow me to use it.

Haha, I still have time to decide what I'm going to do as I just recently pulled out my engine harness...

Got to rewire that harness into my interior for the engine tuck to work.

I picked up dolly rollers for my car the other day to make things easier for me and it certainly did help.

I was able to push my car away from the wall on the passenger side, which allowed me to access the two bolts on the dash frame.

I removed the fuse box/engine bay harness and my dash frame...

With the dash frame out I will be able to manipulate the wiring harness and wire up the interior/engine bay harness.
