what is the purpose of this “sticker” and how to remove it?

Hi guys,

First post here!

Does any know what is the purpose of this sticker and how to remove it without damaging the paint?

The sticker turned a bit yellow and I want to get it removed.

Thank you.

it's a common abrasion point for road debris in the air currents. the factory put it there to minimize paint defects from driving the car.

if it's yellowed/cracked, it's going to be difficult to remove. i would try with a whole bunch of plastic razor blades, goo gone/goof off, a good knee pad, a healthy day to do it, and a whole lot of patience.

It is to protect the paint when people get in and out of the back seat.
