So I just did a few runs with it for about an hour or two through some tunnels and back roads and such and here's my review my only exhaust mod is the berk dual tip muffler delete. It is very easy to control and it sounds quite good, it only really happens on the auto in manual mode when you decel/downshift and lightly tap or hold the gas pedal as the rpms come down. It also took around 30 minutes for it to really kick in and be quite loud and for me to easily control it by modulating the throttle. It's also louder under load. I assume that's due to the computer learning the new ROM as well as the fact the entire exhaust system was probably at a high temp at that point. As for sound it's still quite loud with just a muffler delete, it's novelty sort of wears off after a while because you do notice a fuel mileage drop and also occasional smell gas , in fact I had a full tank before my escapade of running through tunnels and such and it used between 1/4 to 1/2 a tank maybe a bit less. Also I still honestly believe it would be best at minimum to have a catless front pipe and a well packed muffler (or none at all in my case ) if you do this. I hate to think what's happening to the cats getting coated with fuel whenever this tune is run. Also if it does shoot flames it sure as hell will probably coat your bumper with soot or something at high speeds.
Bottom line it's easy to do, sounds good, and is good practice with romraider, but I'd be weary of what it would do long term to the car.

i love this tune, been using is for around 2 months now, N1 Catback Tomei Uel and catless front pipe and overpipe, The pops and crackles are LOUD sometimes gunshot sounds and backfires usualy, however today i heard a knock and immedietly pluged in my OFT and with a bit of throttle the knock correction which is always 0 became 1.3 for a second, so i might remove the tune for now, i just changed the timeing base exactly like the OP without any fuel enrichment or anything else
What do you guys think how bad can this be? Forget the damage to the exhaust, im just saying how bad can this be to the engine itself? Thanks guys |
