Completely blown away by the response to the form in the previous post!

It's a lot. Which is really really good.

We're keeping it up for one more day but things are happening.

...I mean, the fact some folks (me included) SNARFED up the chuhatsu spring sets when they became available says a lot of us are nearly desperate for a sensible suspension upgrade for rougher roads instead of being willing to accept just slapping spacers on. XD

But really that's AMAZING news, look forward to things going well I hope!

Eibach still isn't full staffed yet due to COVID (nothing we can do about that) but they're starting to get back to it and then they'll be making our springs.

I've been working on a few other small projects in the meantime, including possibly a couple new RCE parts. Nothing groundbreaking, and either way I'm going to hold off on them until I evaluate the springs on their own.

It's been a strange few months.

Well we've got a part number for our springs which is cool but covid troubles has Eibach going back to limited staff. Hopefully just a small set back. Please go away covid.

Yeah I literally JUST got my 'well until RCE goes into production' temporary option into the shop to get installed today due to international production and shipping delays on some parts.

Covid really sucks as a final boss to fight with. XD

Hey Andrew, I think you spoke on this briefly a while back but how will the RCE RallyX springs differ from the Chuhatsu multiroads? Thanks and kudos for putting in all the time to get these to market.

1. Our springs will be firmer than the Chuhatsu springs. We're at 182 lbs/in front and 238 lbs/in rear (3.25 and 4.25 kg/mm). Chuhatsu are 129 lbs/in front and 206 lbs/in rear. That's softer than stock BRZ up front for reference, while ours are about 20% firmer. That's not like, super stiff...our RCE Yellows are 250 lbs/in front and rear for reference.

2. Ours won't be quite as high as the Chuhatsu springs. We're doing a 15mm lift (0.6 inches) vs their 1 inch.

Combined with the firmer spring rates, the goal is to make the most of the available travel. So our lift with firmer than stock rates will keep the suspension from bottoming and in a range where it can work.

Rates were chosen based on experience, testing, and consultation with rally experts. We set the front and rear suspension frequencies to around 1.6 Hz front and rear which is a nerdy way of saying that the spring rates happen to match general recommendations for rally driving (though that wasn't the primary factor).

And we're getting really close! Picked out a color (at least for the prototypes) which is a great sign.

Quick update...we're ALMOST there. The COVID delays are still popping up in a variety of frustrating ways, so we're still just waiting patiently for our turn in the queue. It's painful, but they're coming.

Things will move quickly once the first couple sets are on their way to us. Soon.

11/24/20 update:

Trying not to get too frustrated with COVID delays and backlogs. It sucks, but we've just got to keep waiting. I'm looking at engineering drawings, looking at my pile of other parts I've been holding off on installing, and trying to be patient. Working on trying to push the timeline forward as much as possible.

Any new developments or are we still stuck at the same place as your last update?

Stuck. We've thought about a whole bunch of alternative approaches to these last steps but we just have to wait on California and Eibach to open basically. It sucks! Sorry y'all, COVID really blows. The second we can move things forward we will.
