New.. Well kind of..
Picked up my "new" BRZ this past Friday. She's everything I thought she would be. I've driven frs's beforehand and the day I had a whiteout lined up to get I found this one hiding on a BMW used car lot with 10 k miles. Original purchase date was march 7th so she's still very new. With all the minor issues including DI failure, and chirping, I'm considering buying the extended warranty since I do drive a lot at the moment.. Anyone else think I should?

Welcome.
Many 3rd party extended warranties are a sham. They claim to cover this, but not that (two nearly identical components), and then fight you tooth and nail whenever you make any sort of substantive claim. A manufacturer extended warranty tends to result in a better experience. |

If you plan on modifying your car for performance in the near future, you may want to skip the extended warranty.
If you're ok with keeping this relatively stock, and the warranty is from Subaru or is from another reputable third party and has a no-BS bumper to bumper coverage, then it may be worth doing especially given the high mileage. Either way, congrats! |

Think about this: If any part or install is truly faulty there's a likleyhood it will show up in it's infancy. The factory warranty covers a longer period than that. If something survives the factory warranty 'and has been maintained properly' there's a good chance the extended warranty would be a waste. I've never purchased one for any vehicle or appliance I've purchased and have yet to regret it even one time.
You've got a nice car, enjoy it. |

My Subaru Gold 7 year/100k mile warranty was listed at $1300 on my purchase agreement. Not sure if that's the cheapest you can get it for though.
I got it because it's a first model year and it gives me piece of mind if almost anything goes wrong. Between the fishbowl tail lights and the chirps, I'm sure to get my money's worth. |

I passed on the extended warranty. I plan on making mild mods to my car, so getting an extended warranty would be a waste. Take advantage of the regular warranty as much as possible and don't wait to have the dealership make repairs on anything you feel is wrong.
The milage is fine. It's a 2013 with 10k miles. I bet the deal you got on it is work the little bit of miles. |

extended warranties are a scam. i learned this when i had to use it on my 2005 Acura TL @ 50K miles. I will never buy it ever again. i passed on it with the BRZ.

I bought my BRZ back in Feb with 4,000 on it. 6 months later I'm already up to 20,000! I added an extended warranty to 125,000 miles seeing I drive a lot, it was only $10 extra a month.
