Does anyone have a good recommendation for different colored seat belts? The ones I found on eBay were way out of my price range. They were all used from tS’s.

Finally got a sec to take a photo, here you go! Please disregard the trash in the car, it was cold outside LOL. The only thing I'd probably note is that this red is a little more ... shiny. A little more reflective. Not really a flat red, but I dig it. Versus, let's say the red belts from the tS, that's more of a deeper/ darker red.

Yeah! See my pictures above. I went with SafetyRestore. Seemed like a pretty reputable company, had some pretty decent colours, and wasn't overpriced terribly expensive. Figured, not a lot of people have different coloured seatbelts, so why not?

That looks great. How long did it take until you got them back?

My BRZ is my daily so not being able to drive it cuz of no seat belts would be tough.

They're quick! They have a 24h turnaround time .. very quick. The longest process was shipping .. from Toronto, ON, it took about 3 business days, 24 hour turnaround time for the actual job, and probably another 3 business days for international shipping through DHL. May be faster domestically within the US, not too sure.

Hopefully COVID-19 will keep you from going out for a while, maybe you won't even need a car for a week lol. They seem to be the same part for both sides though, doesn't seem side-specific, so if you wanted to do one at a time (do your passenger side, then swap it out for your driver side one once you get it back and do the remaining belt), you could try that too.

That’s a solid point about with COVID-19. I’m working from home for at least 2 weeks. So I decided to go for it today. I paid for their services then shipped the seat belts to Safety Restore!

This might be my next mod. How difficult was it to swap them?

matthui95 would provide a better reply cuz I’m only taken them out and shipped them off so far but putting it back together is just the reverse. It took me about 30 minutes taking my time to remove them and I suspect probably 30 minutes to put it back together.

I disconnected my battery (cuz there’s an airbag sensor on the seat belts)then followed this video:

Here’s the process in pictures (found this URL from a different post on here):

I wouldn't say it's difficult. It's really just 3 trim pieces, 3 bolts, 5 screws, and 1 plug for airbag sensor, if I'm not mistaken I think the most difficult thing was holding the top trim panel piece out of of the way to get to the top bolt, hidden underneath that panel (top of the seatbelt).

The panel just really didn't move, so I just had to squeeze my underneath it. But maybe using an open-ended wrench would help a little more getting into the tight space and not make you worry about breaking something hidden by the headliner. I'd try that first, but idk if it works cause I didn't try. Didn't have the right one with me at the time. If your panel co-operates just fine unlike mine, you should have no problem at all here.

All in all, a 4.5/10. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes per side. And yes, I'd disconnect the battery first, as it deals with an airbag sensor.

I pretty much did this. However, I did not do steps 7-12. That's only if you wish to fully remove the back panels for other purposes. I just let the seat belt anchor retract, and slipped it through the b-pillar trim hole at the top instead.

But I did not notice there was a trim plug back there, as mentioned in step 11. Maybe that's why it was a little difficult for me to pull the trim piece back as mentioned up there^.

@matthui95 you were right they’re really fast. It was under 12 hours from the time they received my package until they’d sent a tracking # for it coming back to me. Shipping took the longest and was 2 business days each direction for me. I just got them back and they look great. Thank you for the recommendation!

I applied sound deadening to the area since it was all accessible, bonus.
