Anyone ever swap a B16B into an FR-S/BRZ??
Title is pretty accurate... I just love how small and compact the B16B is and was wondering if any time attackers would have ever done something like this.
Something that might interest me down the line. Thanks. |

Awesome motor, but another one for the "why?" book...not worth the trouble...plus it's probably too tall.
I'd tune in to whatch you try to make it work though. |

With time and money anything is possible.
As to why? That's a different subject.

You want to swap in a motor that makes even less power than the FA20?
This sounds like an absolute troll thread. Even that J-series thread let alone doing a K-series or an F2xC swap made a lot more sense. |

I cannot think of a reason anyone would want to do that.

I'd rather see a Hyabusa motor in it.

A B18C would be a more appropriate idea, seeing as it's the same block so same size. My last car had a B16B, it wouldn't have enough torque to move the 86. The EK9 is much lighter.

The b16b is for a lighter weight car. It "only" has 185 hp (138 kW) @ 8200 rpm & 118 lb·ft (160 N·m) @ 7500 rpm
The FR-S needs more HP and TQ, not less. Like (Damn! I am going to say it) a H22A out of a JDM 5th gen Prelude, which produces 220 PS (162 kW; 217 hp) @ 7,200 rpm & 163 ft·lbf (221 N·m) @ 6,500 rpm and comes with a red valve cover. A S2000 Engine has been done also.

Aren't the B-series reverse rotation engines? I think you'd have 6 reverse speeds and one forward if you tried to mate it to the FR-S transmission.
