It's the spring perch on the strut that you'll rub, not the coil itself. And no, not any bigger in diameter.

For autox last year I ran a set of RPF1's 17x9 +35 with 255/40/17 Hankook RS3 lowered with swift spec r springs. I would only rub at full lock while reversing out of my driveway. It was rubbing on the inside frame not the shock. Otherwise no rub and no issues. Going with a set of 245/40/17 will be fine.

I too want to get 17x9 wheels on my eibach pro kit. Sadly they only offer it in +42. Anyone know if I'll have any problems with rubbing or anything

+42 would bring the wheel in more than +35. You'd worry about rubbing on the springs over the fender in that case.
Fortunately though, you could use some spacers to move the wheels out a bit. Shouldnt need more than 10mm. Id imagine this combo is probably described on here somewhere.

Im running 235/45 on 17x9 35 RPF1s right now, with a -2 camber up front. it close to the struts atm, if i decide to run a 245s i think it might rub slightly on the struts. you can always throw on a 3mm spacer which is "safe" to run on oem studs if you experiencing any rubbing.

I recently moved and have to raise my car a bit, I am on HSD coils and they have unfortunately seized up hard.
My cheapest option is to put the stock struts in, but I do want that slight drop so Ill be getting the trd lowering springs. I am running rpf1 17x9 +35 on 245/40/17 mpss. I am seeing that a couple of the guys here have that set up and it works fine with the 1" drop from the trd lowering springs. Just to confirm before i make the purchase are the camber bolts necessary for the fitment ? Or was that installed because you wanted that slight tuck in for the wheels? Thanks! |
