OLM HID headlights (looks like VLAND for BRZ’s)
Does anyone have FT Speed’s OLM HID headlights? It looks like they’re basically VLAND for BRZ’s. I’m interested but they’re on backorder.
Does anyone know if they use D4S bulbs? How bright are they compared to BRZ OEM headlights? It is a problem losing the ability to adjust the projector’s height via the OEM motorized mechanism? I keep my lights pointed as far up as possible, I wouldn’t be interested in these lights of their angle was equivalent of the OEM’s low or medium setting cuz I’d only be able to see a few feet ahead. Here’s the link https://www.ft86speedfactory.com/olm...l#.XikqjSROnDt

I have the Vland's, and the housing is suited for D2H HID bulbs with H7 adapters. H7 halogen bulbs will fit, but not well; the tab on the green retention ring that is made to align the D2H bulbs actually interferes with the H7 bulb. If these are just rebranded Vlands then they will be the same. If not then who knows, but it is HIGHLY unlikely that they are D4S because that is a manufacture style bulb/housing. If you have BRZ headlights and you want to use the HIDs off of them then you would need to open the OEM and Vland headlights then try to retrofit the OEM projectors in place of the Vland's projectors. I thought about do it for a cleaner install, but settled on the Morimoto D2H kit. Unfortunately, I have startup issues where one light won't always ignite, which requires restarting the car or flicking the headlights on and off until they boot up. I've reached out to TRS, but they don't seem to know the problem. Part of me wants to try the retrofit, but I have no idea if it is even possible.

That startup issue sounds like it might be best to steer clear of VLAND. I have that same problem with the lighting in one of my aftermarket gauges. It sounds like it’d be really annoying to have that problem in a headlight. Maybe I’ll go back to the idea of just getting $800 2017+ OEM headlights, crack them open and spray paint them black. But those VLANDs look so good
