Reducing engine compartment temps

I'm curious if there will be more aftermarket producs to help reduce engine compartment temps. There seem to be a few ways with vents.. Just before the front windshield, side vents (but need to cut holes), custom hoods, intake coolers, intake and header wraps...

I'm no fluid dynamics expert, but I'd imagine it gets pretty turbulent under there, with heat having nowhere to escape. It'd be interesting to see smoke and a wind tunnel flow through under the hood. Or a simulation even.

Ultimately.. I'm curious how low you can get intake temps. Speaking of, is there a difference between metal and plastic intake tubes? Related:

The stock system gets intake temps down to within a degree or 2 of ambient. I know someone who's monitored the Injen on a trackday and seen the IAT readings hovering not too far off as well. It seems that the air flow through the bay is enough, as well as the cooling effects of air through the intake system itself. The issue is mainly when you're not moving and radiated heat from the radiator creating heat soak.
