valve spring issue?

Anyone knows about a valve spring issue? I was reading this today and it is mentioning about a possible massive recall of vehicles:

Bump for future info.

Could be a good excuse to upgrade internals.

If it really is for a faulty valve spring, then it sounds like it could potentially "just" be a supplier issue, where the supplier used defective/poor metal, or manufactured it with some sort of defect. Especially since it sounds like it will apply to just about every engine, which would suggest it isn't a specific design issue. If that's the case, it may be widespread, but hopefully will be for 'relatively recent' vehicles, and not vehicles spanning back several years. We shall see, though! My latest 10,000 mile interval oil change results were so perfect I don't want ANYONE touching my engine!

Are there any warning signs for this issue before a failure?

Excessive valve noise, if a spring fails you should lose compression in the effected cylinder(s)

In addition, if it is just a weakened spring, that could cause a burnt valve and the compression would be reduced.

Also, if you float the valves enough you could end up with valve to piston contact.

I waited to get a 2017 specifically to get the updates and avoid some of the earlier issues. So far I'm 15k miles in and have had no issues, most of the reports I've seen where people believe they were affected by this saw it in the first 5-10k miles. I'm hoping this isn't a very broad recall, because like @Stang70Fastback, my UOAs and other indicators are so perfect right now I don't want anyone touching my engine internals.

They'd better stock up on short blocks and heads. Seriously though, if the springs are bad it shouldn't take them long to fail so this is most likely a recent issue.

You're not going to see a burnt valve on these cars. Most modern engines use sodium filled valves which make it borderline impossible.

Early 2018's were known to have valvetrain issues, so I wonder if this potential recall is related.

First notable issue I recall:

Just asking because my car had engine knock when I sold it. Well, pretty sure it was knock. That's not specifically why I got rid of it just the last straw. Probably not related to this issue.
