@powerfrs

Also what ride height are you on?

From what I can see, a 1.2 inch drop gives you 2.4 rear camber, that alone is good enough, right? Why use RLCAs then?

I’m aiming for 2.5 on the fronts, so it’s nice since I want them to match

This thread successfully gave me a ton of anxiety/had me second guessing my setup before getting my wheels/suspension dialed in today. Ended up going to a shop to get the install + alignment done.

Had 18x9.5 +40 from my Gen 1 wrapped in 255/35. Actually transferred over the coilovers and the RLCA from the previous car as well.

Here's some pics after the install:

Posted in the other thread, but the specs after the alignment are -2.6/-2.7 in the front and -3 in the rear (went with -3 to be on the safe side with clearance). Keep in mind that I've had the rear inner fenders shaved.

The 255/35 Yokohama Advan Apex 601 that I'm currently on seem to run a bit thinner than other tires.

Thanks for the pics. Do you know how much clearance you have to the strut?

I think I posted a picture wayyy back in the thread in December with the clearance on stock suspension (a few mm).

No issues with clearing the coilovers, pretty identical to the gen 1 other than the rear fender fitment.

That's actually very helpful info.

We know coilovers save at least 6mm compared to stock suspension.
And if your 9.5 et40 barely clears stock suspension (say 2mm?) that means 9.5 et45 should have no issues clearing coilovers.

And since 9.5 et45 will be 5mm more fender clearance, perhaps no fender rubbing for +45?

Any thoughts anyone?

he said it was on coilovers and RCLA so not stock sadly. I'm sitting in the same boat I want stock suspension for the time being but want wider tires its driving me crazy cause I want the widest possible. id like 255 bit I will settle for 235 if that's what it ends up being. if last gen chamber bolts work I would be willing to do that but that's about the limit of how much suspension changes I want to do right now since I will be doing it all myself

9.5 et45 in the front?
On the 1st gen, I had 245/40R17 rubbing against the chassis near the front ARB at et37 and -3º of camber.

+45 is definitely ideal over +40 if possible! You'll need to shave/cut your rear inner fenders either way though...that inner tab is just some awful design

Will definitely clear coilovers, but won't clear stock in the front most likely.

Just out of curiosity, what's your reason(s) for wanting it to be as wide as possible?

I'm just not a fan of the stock 215 it came with the tire itself is great I just like the feel wider tires give me while driving and I like having a larger contact patch. I have 225 winter tires right now and its feels a little better so I'm thinking 235 are the minimum I want for summer and any bigger than that is a bonus for me. also in the long run I do plan on going for more power but I don't have a set power goal yet and I'm not sure when I will be going for power but it will be after some of my warranties expire not sure where I will draw that particular line but i will cross that bridge when I get to it

I’ve made peace with not getting 9.5, too much potential risk.

Decided on 18x8.5 (since all good 18x9.0 are at least 500 per rim!) Enkei TSV, storm gray. I think the design of the wheel matches the car extremely well.

1. Would anyone like to suggest an offset? I have a choice for +45, +40, and +38.
2. I want a tire size that doesn’t look bulky, but not stretched either. 245/35-18? Any help?

Thanks

ET38 would give you a more flush fitment I think. my 17x9 ET42 poke very slightly on stock suspension.

245 will fit fine on 8.5, but it might look a little bit bulky. 235/35/18 would be a more square look but is slightly smaller in diameter.

I'd get et45 for the rear and et40 for the front, or et45 square with a 5 mm spacer.

+40 if you plan to run decent camber, otherwise +45.

Or +45 and you can add ARP studs and 5-7mm spacers later to get it perfect.
