Unhappy Crack in the glass..

I was driving through the backroad home from a quick burger run. Just before I get to the stop, a white car comes toward me and I hear a hit. Didn't think much of it (road has a ton of gravel and tends to hits the undercarrage frequently.)
Arriving into the driveway, I see it. There is an extended crack on the driver's side.) I'm clearly upset and my dad decides to take a look. He says it needs to be replaced. I think it could be repaired. It's stabilized and hasn't run any further. Looks deep however.
I have to wait until Monday (or Tuesday) to get a call back from the glass company that will be sent to take a look. I purchased extra warrenty on my FR-S via recommendation from my insurence agent. He was very forward on what they will cover and when I'm SOL. He's under a full coverage plan, but I was told not to use it for petty claims. This is a very car-theft and noctorius area (cheap locals, and lots of uninsured "immigrants") so every claim is looked throughly.
So now I play the waiting game. How has everyone fared with crack or breakage issues ? A fellow FR-S owner in my hometown also is going through a similar issue (bigger break though; and filing though insurence.)
Pics a little later. Currently dealing with congestion. I'm hoping I didn't catch the flu. >_<

replacement of the windshield is the only sane option. The windshield is integral to the overall stability of the vehicle body.

Depending on if it's just a chip it could be repaired (I work in IT for Safelite Auto Glass) - but the chip never really goes away, you can still see it - its usually free if you go through an insurance company, but the repair would just stop it from spreading. Replacing the windshield may take a while (and is quite a bit more expensive, I want to say the cost for our windshield is up there), I know that unlike most cars there are not that many manufacturers making the windshield yet so it's a dealer bought part. Sorry to hear about the chip - good luck on getting it fixed!

I had one on my previous car, it was just a chip to start, but after 2 days of driving I hit a bump and it got bigger. It only cost me $100 through my insurance to replace.

It sounds like your crack isn't as big though...LOL.

I have a two foot crack. Called a windshield place yesterday and have an appointment this morning to get it replaced. Their giving me $100 bucks and a restaurant coupon book. Not oem glass but exceeds oem standards. Plus im returning the car to Toyota because its a lemon so im not too concerned. Had to have it fixed for them to accept it.

Notorious, damn auto correct.

Insurance fraud. It's gotten pretty bad. Texas is known for rather high insurence rates (at least what is considered high in the south).
Thank our neighbor from the other side of the border.

It's just like that one..passenger side. I'm seriously considering going OEM on this one. My friend (who owns a "sister" FR-S) just got another chip after getting a recent replacement. I can't go through the dealership, I'm going through a claims department through my car's additional warrenty.

Drive around yesterday and it has never extended. Wasn't about to push it though.

Shoot, the pic isn't showing up. I mainly use my phone for internet. The two closest providers haven't bothered to fix the line and the county's fiber optic line is still being installed.

Gotta love rural area living...
