I forgot to mention this was on 93 Octane.

I can bump up to 94 Octane if that would make a difference.

Well i'd only have access to 93, so i'd personally be interested in seeing if running stage 2 on a stock '17+ works with that.

Yes. The ECU takes the requested amount of timing from the base timing B table +/- knock correction X by IAM. So you want your IAM at 1. Anything less, the ECU is pulling timing.

Do you think 94 Octane could get the IAM up to 1?

What are you running now? It might go up on it's own, if it doesn't better fuel may help, or the ignition and cam settings might be a little too aggressive. The ECU does a little bit of learning, usually around 100 miles of varied driving before it is good.

If it is actually better fuel it will help. I don't know if it will be enough.

So I just took a short drive today.

The IAM started at .7 again.

Does the IAM reset every time you start the car?

It got up to .86 by the time I shut it down.

yes, unless you go below .7 i believe it will remember and stay at that lower number it was at right when you shut it off. but if you go/stay above .7 it will always revert back to .7 whenever you turn car back on.

Okay, I went on a third drive with the Stage 2 tune. This drive was longer and the IAM only went up to .76. So each drive the IAM reached a lower peak from .96 to .86 to .76.

Then I switched back the Stage 1 tune to data logged that. I've attached the Stage 1 data log. IAM only went up to .72

Can someone knowledgeable compare my Stage 1 and Stage 2 (attached in previous post) data logs and compare them and tell me what they see?

Thanks!

IAM starts at .7 and goes up under certain conditions. Depending on how you drive you might not ever achieve those conditions or at least not enough times for a long enough period in time for it to go up, or go all the way to 1. I would be more concerned if you see it go down below .7 or go up and back down. If it goes to say .86 but shortly after drops or keeps constantly going up and down it’s more concerning. Occasional small drops are probably not that big of deal. If you get it to 1 and it stays and looks fine, you can tweak the tune to start at 1, or start at .9 or something higher than .7

In 1st accelerate at about 20% throttle up to 5k rpm shift continue accelerating in 2nd at about 20% throttle shifting again at 5k, depending on road continue in 3rd to 5k. Do this about 5 times in a shortish period of time. This should get IAM to go up faster. Too low throttle % and too low rpm or too high throttle % it probably wont go up, or at least might take a while.
