Is it still too late to wish for a Toyota built 4 cylinder instead a boxer

If so many people didn't need/want more horsepower, then these threads wouldn't continually pop up.

And I use more than 200 hp more times a day than I can count*

*when driving Cayman. If it's the GSR then probably over 150 hp each time I drive. Engine gets taken above 7000 rpm every day.

there is nothing wrong with folks wanting/needing more power..I'm totally fine with how much power the twins have but I would gladly get into a higher HP variant from the factory too.

I'm sure what triggers folks here, including me, is that any time the torque spoiled brats talk about wanting more power, typically their main reason is that they believe the FA20's power makes the car undriveable/lethargic/can't pass or merge on the highway/lose to minivans/etc...such an eyesore to read it in every thread about power...correct statement should always be "I need more power" not "this car needs more power"

Your east coast is showing. Out west their interstate speed limits are 75, and even at 90MPH you're unlikely to catch other drivers.

This wins.

But really.. going over the speed limit is dangerous and you can get a ticket.

What's the rush. Just leave 5mins earlier.

Your location says NYC. I'm going assume that's New York City. If so, you likely haven't been over 30mph...

We have to talk about something here... Many people can forgive an engine for not making loads of power if they have other qualities. The problem is the FA20 has none of the qualities that makes a good "sporty" powertrain.

It isn't smooth, it doesn't sound good, it doesn't rev high, it doesn't have an interesting powerband (in a good way, a dip in torque is interesting but in a bad way), and the list goes on.

I can forgive an engine for not making power, but it has to have some other factors that improve the driving experience (think F20C), which ours does not. The powertrain and engine controls are by far the worst thing about this car.

We can only wish. Honestly, the new 2.5L I4 found in the Camry is an absolute beast. It is lighter, cheaper to manufacture, produces the same ~210HP, has 30 more TQ than the FA20, and is one of the most thermally efficient ICE's on the market today (close to 40% compared to normal ICE's around 25%).
