DIY Mini Bar/secret compartment?

So on the left of our audio units there is that big T-carbon fiber panel or silver BRZ panel. I was thinking about opening it up and installing two push-to-open magnetic latches on the top two corners of it and something that'll cause it to swing down but not all the way Down (90 degrees so it flat).

1. What's this latter swing down mechanism called?

Then I was thinking about reinforcing the panel so it can hold weight and basically installing some sort of intricate shot, beer, and vape holder on it.

Don't worry I wont drink and drive.

Any tips ?

It's possible there are mechanical components taking up the space. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an air bag stuffed somewhere in there. I agree it would be a waste not to use that space.

No clue how to help but if you figure something out please do a DIY! I wouldn't put booze in it but with the woefully inadequate storage space it would come in handy!!!!

I think what you're looking for is a cabinet lid stay or lid support. Something like this:

Nope. It comes from the top of the dash and wraps over it. Watch at 3:51:

There are just some holes under that trim piece. The cabin air filter is back up under there.

The area where the glove box SHOULD BE is mostly empty volume.
You can see the space in the pic above where the three black squares are between the vent on the right and the stereo hole.
The airbag is above that and would not interfere.
