I bought 2020MY last year, didn't like how it feels, sold it in several months. Not even close to Silvia, sadly. New ones are basically the same but with better engine, so I'll give'em a pass.

I'd rather buy manual Supra in case I'll be shopping for a new fun car for grip and drifting.

Huh, I had an S13 (which I loved) and an S14 (seemed a lot softer and way more rubbery), neither held a candle to my BRZ which feels a *lot* stiffer, way less chintzy, way more power, etc. I can't think of anything that was *better* on my S13 (again, which I loved) vs. BRZ in any category.

One of the posts says "I'll shit in my hands and play patty cake if the base is $30k", I think it sums things up quite well.

TBS, the 2023 Z is a reskin of a decades old platform, and uses a well worn engine (and box?), so I doubt Nissan went bankrupt on development costs. Guessing it'll end up in the high 30s to high 40s depending on spec, with average handling characteristics but good power & nice looks. There sure is a market for that.

My prediction:

~330hp base version: 38k USD

400hp base version: 44k USD

400hp proto version: 48k USD
(Adds monoblock brakes and viscous LSD)

Nismo: 55k

I could be completely wrong but that’s what I’m guessing.

450hp Mustang GT starts around $36k. 330hp for $38k with a similar weight doesn’t sound great, especially as equipped if it a true base.

All Zs will have 400hp.

Correction issued by Dan Passe.

We apologize but this was an error on behalf of the spokesperson. The base price of the 2023 will be around $40,000, as previously reported.

Again, we are very sorry.

Isn't it supposed to have the same engine and tune from the Q60 Red Sport, which has 400 hp???

Edit: if you meant in that thread, I didn't see anything. Lol

There hasn't been any indication of a detuned version, has there? I thought they were just going to begin the range with 400HP?

Ouch, but yeah, it's probably not going to be as cheap as everyone thinks or hopes. The Supra is the closest competitor on specs and intention, so that sets the market price. The Z just has to be a little cheaper to compete. The 370Z was pretty heavily discounted in price due to being pretty old which I think has set a lot of unrealistic expectations for the new Z.
