Alright, so at CSG_Mike's advice, I pulled some data logs from my car earlier today. I'm trying to troubleshoot the source of my poor mileage. His initial diagnosis is that I may have a leak somewhere either on my manifold gasket or one of the hoses. I haven't had a chance to peak under the hood yet as it's been raining all day but here's a sample of the log.

Short term fuel trim looks like it's centered around 0 but the long term fuel trim is around +20 at idle and drops when I increase throttle. I'm a bit new at interpreting this stuff but I found several sources that indicate that behavior is indeed indicative of a vacuum leak somewhere... or dirty fuel injectors.

Can anyone else post up some graphs of what normal behavior looks like? I'm putting in an order for a replacement manifold gasket in the meantime.

Do you have any more "standard" logs to compare with? ie idle, freeway cruising or red-line pull? Here's a few public logs I have of the CARB tune.

http://datazap.me/u/bigfatflip/15120...l?log=0&data=7
http://datazap.me/u/bigfatflip/15120...g?log=0&data=7

Not really very knowledgeable about this sort of thing, but maybe you can compare

I had similar behavior NA from an exhaust leak. Idle and city driving were both way off, and fuel economy suffered.

What oil cooler kits are people using with the Edelbrock kit? I was going FA20DIT route but keep reading it's not sufficient even for occasional track duty.
That's shitty, it was my understanding the mishimoto would work fine with the kit, so I've already put it on my car in preparation.

Did some spritzing with starter fluid but no change in idle no matter where I sprayed. I know it's not definitive but it suggests I don't have a large leak somewhere.

I did notice that both injectors on the drivers side were slightly off. You can just turn them while seated right?

I'll take a look under the ECU bracket tomorrow and see how those look as well.

Silver lining to all of this - I haven't heard the crickets since the supercharger went on!

Hi all,

Okay, since I installed the supercharger, like I mentioned before, I have also encountered a significant drop in mpg now that i'm on E85.

I asked Edelbrock this past weekend during the car show, and also my mechanic.
To begin with, to use e85 our fuel pumps and 4 of our fuel injectors were changed out, for larger injectors and more powerful pump.

This change, inherently, they say, will make it so that your car uses more fuel.

The fact that well, the tunes have to be setup so that more liquid is sprayed into the chambers than compared to the car stock. Specially when using E85.

The best I have averaged in the past week is 17.8 mpg on E85.

I have not tryed using 91 pump gas to see if that mpg goes up, as I am enjoying too much my car now, and don't want it to "feel" less powerful, haha.

But then again, e85 here is 2 bucks a gal, and gasoline varies up to 3.3 bucks for 91 per gal. After doing some math, it does look like we are spending a little more, but it seems it's only cents on the dollar per gallon extra, for the added power.

In anycase, we are definately greener than 91 users, so at least we make less toxic emissions. It's like eating Organic, food is more expensive, but it's supposed to be more healthy for you.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! The shop that installed my kit charged me 2.5 hours of labor to "explore" making it fit. This is on top of the 11 hours I was charged for the kit installation alone when others have done it in 6-8 hours!

Leaning towards JR Rad/Oil Cooler combo now...

Can anyone else shed some light on whether they went to a smaller belt when using the 3" pulley? If so what belt, belt length?

Had the 99" belt installed and got an updated tune from DT (thanks Zach for the quick turn around). Car is running better with only minor idle and tip in issues.

"Possibly,. The kit does not intrude on the space necessary to use some of the common oil cooler kits. Confirmed fitments include:
- Mishimoto (modification necessary)"

Now that we have the "modification necessary" qualifier for this kit, what kind of modification is required?

According to my shop, fabricating a mount to relocate the core and getting new lines. I'm eyeing the JR dual radiator as well.
