E85 Overload plus splash backs!!! - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Decided to pump some e85 today and switch over to OFT e85 tune. Let's just say I pumped a total of 13.2 gallons of e85. 11.5 into the tank, .5 all over the car, also got some nice splash backs, and the rest of the 1.2 gallons...all over the gas station ground. Last time I'm going there. Any harm done to the car?

No, just wash that fender area (or area of the car it spilled on) and wax it. I can't believe this is what the forum has become lol

see, this is why people in Oregon and New Jersey cannot pump their own gas.

waay too dangerous.

EPA is probably on their way to your house for arrest/huge fine.

Gas kept coming out even without the trigger being pressed. Had to flip the switch where the nozzle rest for the pump to stop. I don't know about you, but it's the first time I've seen this happen.

Did you report it to the gas station operator? They would like to know...

Also, it sounds like your car will be fine, but if it kept pumping and nothing was spilling out, that means it's going into the evap canister - that'll be an expensive replacement.

Yes I did. I went inside the station and reported it to the two clerks. Seems like they didn't care much, but I got a refund for the excessive e85.

tbh I wouldnt care much if I were making minimum wage too, lol, but Im glad to hear they reimbursed you.

Yea quite frankly I've had stuff like that where like you go to a gas station or mini mart tell them something is broken or something is wrong and they shrug it off because it doesn't really matter to them, and quite frankly it doesn't matter to me either

You need to talk to someone in charge to get anything done lol

Just a deffective station pump. No internal harm. The car will burn the fuel anyway. Just care for the cosmetic area effected and you're good to go.
