gr is still fwd-biased though..

main advantage for this over the type arrr is that it doesn't look like an angry japanese anime character.

You bite your tongue! According to members here, AWD is only for those planning to off road or those that live in adverse conditions! Hail Honda! Hail FWD!

I'm kidding. I'll take the GR Corolla over the Type R any day.

that piece of crap is quite potent on the track in stock form and is very fast for a FWD drive... AWD does not mean faster or better track car than FWD

Thats its eco or standard mode. Track is 50/50 and there is a 30/70 option. That does sound fun :

I think the CTR looks better and has better interior, so that is my subjective opinion. The extra cylinder and 0.4 liters is nice for potential and for faster/extra spool/torque. The car is very well done from the factory for the track.

The GRC has D4S and great potential for what it is. There are more drivetrain losses due to AWD, but better traction, so tires and the track surface/conditions could make the biggest difference in favor of the GRC.

I would get the CTR on looks alone and not think twice about the decision. If I didn't live in sunny California, or if I lived specifically in a snowy region, then I would get the GRC. I would have to drive them back to back to know which I would want for the track, but for simplicity, I would probably take the CTR; less that can go wrong over a complicated drivetrain in the GRC.

Technically, but in reality not really.

Drive configuration has nothing to do with speed though.

If I had the budget, I'd have the GR Corolla for my daily driver/ winter fun car and the GR86 for my more autox/ track day car. The GR Corolla just reminds me of what the EVO and STI used to be, an fairly affordable yet capable sports car with lots of tech that would give cars costing over twice as much a good run for the money.

Just have to think of a way to get my significant other to agree that we need two GR models in the driveway

I mean, Honda engineers did a fantastic job in regards to the engine and chassis, as always. It's a great pity though, that such brilliant efforts are being wasted on a FWD(*spit*) abomination, instead of making a proper, RWD car.

That's fair enough.

RWD is not really in Honda's history, there is the NSX, S2K, and some kei cars. They Type R has always been a FWD car based off a standard FWD car.
