But the metal properties would also play a major role, no? I suspect it will have to be a suck it and see scenario.

I actually just did the Mtec spring last week and am very pleased with it. I was concerned that simply removing the spring might swing the sensation too far the other way and I'm happy with the Mtec spring. It feels a lot like the clutch on a 2017 WRX now, for a reference. The change is most noticeable as you get close to the floor where there is much more feel / resistance than the stock spring. Probably an improvement either way, but thought I'd add my feedback!

I removed my spring last night and wow -- shifting from 1st to 2nd is SO MUCH BETTER. No more shuttering or jumping when going from 1st to 2nd. With the spring in I felt like I can drive as slow as possible and try to shift as smoothly as I can and it would still jerk around when going to 2nd.

That being said, I read through every post on this thread hoping that a replacement spring (with less load) would come up. I would really like to put another spring in there that has roughly 1/5th the load that the stock spring has. No to assist with pedal return but just to make sure the clutch is pushed all the way back to stock position when not compressed.

I see the mtec spring, even it looks like a pretty heavy spring. I would love to get some dimensions and help track something down that cost a few bucks and is the best of both worlds.

I was the one who posted the link to McMaster for a similar spring to the stock one.

In an effort to help the community, I ordered the MTEC spring, and am awaiting its arrival. I will take measurements of the MTEC spring, and it can be compared to the stock one. From there, I think it would be a good place to find others...maybe McMaster has some, but there are tons of spring companies out there.

The one on McMaster, for example, says it has around 57lbs of resistance. It has all of the dimensions of the stock spring, so maybe it has a similar load resistance on it as well. I will see what the MTEC spring's dimensions are and post back when it arrives.

Ok, the MTEC spring arrived today...I was not able to find the exact exact spring, but these are close:

STOCK SPRING Flat ends:
1.65" long
1.06" OD
.775" ID
.138" wire diameter

MTEC Spring Flat Ends:
1.7" long
1.06" OD
.8" ID
.12" wire diameter

Here are the comparisons:

comparison to stock (says 72lbs of force): http://springs.mrspring.com/item/com...-3/mcr13502-mw

Comparison to MTEC (says 59lbs of force): http://springs.mrspring.com/item/com...-3/mcr12504-ss

Based on my unofficial research, the difference between 59lbs (MTEC) and 72lbs (Stock) is the aftermarket one is around 20% less stiff than stock. Hope this helps people!

Also, if you happened to mangle the e-ring that secures the bolt upon removal, I am sure you can find this at a local hardware store, but here are the specs:

A question for those who have installed the same spring, or an aftermarket one back in:

Any tips on how to get the e-ring back on?

I am having a super difficult time getting the ring back on to safely test the MTEC spring...

I put my Mtec spring on about a week ago. I put some tacky-type grease on the clip and put it up on the bracket - the grease held the clip in place. Then I took an ordinary flat file and used the small end of it to push the clip onto the pin. I was successful on the first try and couldn't believe it! Make sure to wear your glasses in case it flies off. Good luck!

Thanks again for taking your time to do that. I might email M&R and see if there is something comparable around 43-44lbs of force. I think 60% of stock pressure would be pretty close to ideal (maybe a little less?).

Well, I don't know... I have the MTEC spring, but I still don't have my car... :-D
It should arrive in july (but tracking number says it's still not in production).
I really appreciate your italian customization!
This is one of the actual Police Lamborghini, really on italian Highways, usually used for human organs transport for transplants...
