If would be interesting to see statistics regards to pandemic denial and hospitalizations/deaths.

Of course none such info exists since it's not as though they ask sick people whether they have been proactive regards to the pandemic or not when they are hospitalized.

I'd be willing to guess, especially in the third more virulent wave, that many deniers ended up getting sick and sadly, in some cases dying. The wave of infections here for ages 20-40 can be partially denial and partially the need to continue working in environments that are not as well protected, some factories and food processors.

Some people believe it is better to allow natural processes such as their own immune systems fend for them. That, in my opinion, is insanity knowing what has been happening. But unfortunately once you are infected the journey is irreversible. You could be asymptomatic, mildly ill, extremely sick or mortally sick.

If you prefer to play Russian roulette with your life rather that capitulate and admit you are no less vulnerable than anyone else, good luck, I hope you don't get really sick, but unfortunately when a person is in denial it doesn't matter what you tell them. I don't think going to the gym every day makes much difference if you are unlucky. I have witnessed someone who was sick but looking to be improving, then several days later succumbing to the cytokine storm, and it was horrible. Younger people would spend weeks with a tube down their trachea, in an induced coma, developing bed sores and their organs becoming more and more damaged as time passes.

I have both electronic and paper documentation of my vaccination. That will be useful later on.

I wish I could say the same, but I am unsure. On one hand, every unvaccinated person is a potential disease vector and every infected person is an active disease vector. I really want the virus to stop spreading, and the fewer people who come down with the virus, the fewer other people they will infect. So, in that sense, I hope the vaccine resisters stay healthy. On the other hand, decisions and actions should and do have consequences and my Calvinist ancestors would dearly like to see that arrogance and hubris have a cost.

What if those who say "let my immune system defend me" get diagnosed with cancer or some other illness. Will they not seek treatment for it, cuz you know, "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger...."

Probably they will seek treatment, it's a different dynamic psychologically. Their actions in that case cannot affect others the same way, it's only themselves. Most people do care about themselves, but their disdain for humanity overrides their good judgement therefore they play Russian Roulette with EVERONE, which can be empowering to a crazy person.

I have less animus for the vaccine resistant lately. I almost have sympathy for them as I think their mistrust and skepticism are misplaced. Have you guys seen on the street anecdotes of people losing family to covid and still say they won’t be taking a vaccine? I really do not know what to think in that instance.

Net profit is profit after costs are covered, plus I never said they didn't incur a cost for development. However they did not incur as much cost as you think, their partner, BioNTech received $445 million from the German government to develop the vaccine. So not all development costs were undertaken by the pharm companies. Plus they all got guaranteed purchases of any "approved" vaccines produced at around $20 per dose.

And the peanut gallery with their association comments.

We aren't discussing other vaccines, or all vaccines. The discussion is on the Covid vaccines produced under a hyper accelerated timetable and the quickness they were brought to market. There IS a risk.

Comparing that to vaccines that have been tested for decades is pointless.

No it's not pointless. It very much has a point.

My earlier comment was on the difference between those with natural antibodies being stronger and longer lasting that those with vaccine induced antibodies. If we knew we could test and study people and find out those with the immune systems that were able to fight this better than that of the others that couldn't it may lead to a better way to protect everyone without boosters. That is all.
