TBH... I think I'd still buy it. But ONLY if it actually had AWD, turbo, manual lol You know, the GR Yaris but in a Corolla.

If it's $35k tops, I'd get one. Not sure if I'd go higher than that tho, especially since it will not have any of the carbon fiber/forged carbon panels.

It will most likely be a "limited" production run so >$35,000 optioned out is completely possibly considering a fwd CTR is going for $35,000+ and the Yaris GR sells for more.

The GR Yaris has those crazy carbon pieces. The rumor mills say the GR Corolla won't have that to have a lower price. And didn't the GR Yaris have its own unique chassis that didn't use one of the TGNA platforms (I think it was a mash up of 2 or 3 of them). I'm sure between the carbon pieces, and the unique chassis, it drove up the cost. I'm sure they're going to stick with which ever TGNA platform the current Corolla is on now as base for the GR Corolla. Probably won't handle as well as the GR Yaris, but I wouldn't mind. haha. Preferably I would get the GR Yaris (I've owned 2 Yarii in the past already), but yeah, not happening here in the US.

I read somewhere the GR Yaris was half Yaris and half Corolla. But I could be wrong. As for the lack of carbon fiber on a GR Corolla, I don't really care. It's not like the difference between aluminum panels and CF will make a difference for my daily commuting and occasional backroad cruise. I just want it to feel good driving and have the features without Toyota fucking us over too much.

Oh, I was just referencing the carbon pieces as to why the GR Yaris cost how much it did. I wouldn't mind not having the carbon bits either (forged carbon doesn't look aesthetically pleasing to me).

Just like you, it's good for me if it's an engaging car to drive without costing an arm and a leg.

Please no. Toyota is fine on their own. Partnering with Subaru would just mean inferior technology and workmanship. Partnering with honda on the other hand would be interesting and result in the highest quality product

Something something plummeting Honda reliability ratings in the last ~10 years.

Oh! I just realized I was referencing the prices from an Australian website! So, it was intro'd at ~$31K USD after which the top model currently goes for ~$45K USD.. With a $14k range who knows what this thing will cost. lol Eh oh well, I just paid my BRZ off and bought a super charger so I'm out of the market anyway.. Still excited tho.
