Advice Needed: Best Radiator Fan + Shroud Combo
I supercharged my gt86 and changed the radiator to Jackson Racing dual Radiator + oil cooler v2
I also added Mishimoto low temperature thermostat valve. The temps are OK and well controlled 78-94°even under spirited driving but the moment I get into heavy traffic or idle it creeps up relatively fast to 100 degrees c° So I thought it's not a brainer, definitely the fans are not pulling enough air through the main radiator, Air-conditioning radiator and SC intercooler. I need your help on what are the best fans + shroud combo to ensure perfect cooling under lower speeds / idle. Thanks in advance for your kind help Unreal Sent from my ONEPLUS A6000 using Tapatalk |

After supercharging my car, I went through and fitted, a few different cooling options, to get to the point I am at now (the cooling is now fully capable in any situation)
I started with fitting an external oil cooler (with its own fan) behind a cut out in the fog light area...with an air exit into the wheel well. I fitted a Mishimoto radiator and their twin fans in their shroud. This all worked OK until I put on the smallest pulley and a built motor ... then in very hot conditions, and under extreme use... the temperatures could rise to above 106c. So I fitted a PWR radiator and twin Spal (high volume) fans, adapted into a modified and enlarged Mishimoto shroud. The fans draw power directly from the battery. The functional difference is very very impressive. |

Cooling capacity is not the issue for low speed. ECU doesn't kick the fans until that temp. Works as designed. Can reflash with lower threshold temp if desired, or just fire up the AC.

Why are you worried about 100deg C when idling in traffic? That is not that hot?
Do you have hood vents? that would help if you do not. |

I think of the best radiators out there is Verus. But since I don’t have that coin, I went with Full Blown combo and hood vents and have had zero issues. I also have full blown oil cooler.

Yea at idle your temps will creep up. Best bet is to add Track Spec vents. Your cooling setup is pretty solid.

Its actually a PWR radiator, and Spal fans... so you can do it yourself a fair bit cheaper with a little bit of effort.

Of course but OP is concerned about coolant temp in heavy traffic and idle. That's purely a matter of thermostatic control, not heat shedding capacity.

Forcing the fans full on at a stop significantly drops the temps very quickly. I was messing around with it while waiting in like at the drive through, it would drop from 200F to 170F in about a minute. Rad/fans are not the issue for traffic and idle.

Did you add foam/ fan ducting around the JR cooler? I just installed mine a few weeks ago and noticed the instructions do not tell you to do so, but I took the foam from the OEM radiator and spray glued it around the perimeter of the JR cooler so you are sealing off the air pathway again.
Without adding the foam back around the cooler core you will lose air flow through the cooler, fluids are lazy and flow towards path of least resistance. I would also ask your tuner to lower the OEM fan turn on temp since you live in Saudi. I think the OEM value is 212 F° |
