The dealership I went to had firestorm, asphalt, raven, aquamarine, and white. I just love white the best

Definately loving it so far, it's such a blast to drive! The only problem I'm having right now is finding a name for her.

I test drove an auto FR-S (thought it wasn't bad at all), wanted to test drive a manual BRZ (dealership salesman was an asshat and lost a sale). As soon as they were taking by orders for the 10series I had to I have one (same situation ion for my 06 Civic Si -no test drive whatsoever). So far so good for not taking a test drive.

New updates to the original post on my thoughts after I've owned the car for the weekend.

I'll probably get shit for the comparison because of it's status, but I think the FR-S is incredibly similar to the old Porsche 944 - even more so than the z31 300zx's. One of my friends in high school had an 86 944 and even though I hadn't driven it in almost 10 years, the first thing I thought of when I test drove the FR-S was how similar it felt to the old 944 - but quite a bit quicker (seeing as his 944 only had about 150hp new and after almost 20 years, had significantly less).

I wouldn't be surprised if in 20 years from now, the FR-S is up on the list of "best handling cars" right next to the 944. Both had small engines, weigh about the same, and have crappy interiors - but handle excellently and are a blast to drive.

Personally I believe the FR-S will become an instant classic. In several years from now these cars will be mentioned in lists just like the one you described. Im proud of being apart of a whole new era of a upcoming classic car.

You shouldn't get any shit for that. The 300zx is a boat. The 240sx/Silvias (S13/S14/S15) and the FR-S/GT86/BRZ and even kinda sorta the BMW E30 (but less so than the others) are all very similar to the 944. It's what they were meant to be....... simple, FR sports coupes. The 280z is much closer.

Chris Harris (I think) and a few others have compared it to a Cayman. It really is an awesome little car.

Heh. Said this before. 20 years from now at the FR-S gathering, we will all just shake our heads sadly as we walk by the rusted-out RB clown-cars on our way to the stock/unmolested display area to look at the good stuff.

Great story, thanks for sharing.

I test drove mine (when it was a brand new 2013) and went back to the lot about 9 months later and bought her (for a few grand cheaper). Enjoy the car and stay safe!

Every instructor I've ever had in my car on a track day wanted to go for another ride. One even told me "Thank you" for the ride. Lol.
