245/40 will 100% not fit, rear or front. I have 18x9.5 squared with a +35 offset. having a lower offset, ie. +30 means your wheels will stick out even farther. 225/40s is what i run now and its perfect for my wheels being functionally low. Unless you run mad camber and have LCA's and Endlinks, you wont fit 245/40s on a 9.5 with offset smaller than +35. How do I know? Last season I ran my 18x9.5 +35 wheels with 245/40 falken 453 summer performance tires. I installed bc racing coils and maxed the camber out on the rear and the fender still sat on the tire. The fronts pulled my fenders and rubbed the inner paint fully off. All I can say is that its the only functional way to be slammed in a safe manner is to run a safe mild stretched tire. 225/40/18x9.5 isn't that extreme and is completely safe for daily driving. I know this first hand and I'm not speaking theoretically.

Even 235/40s rubbed so I just ended up going with 225/40s. Good luck with the build!

Yeah +30 is a pretty low offset, +38/+40 is more ideal on a 9.5" rim.

How was it running 225/40? I think maybe if I ran 245/35 I'll have more clearance and won't run as much? There's more room to play around in the back and I don't like the sunken look in the back of that makes sense. I've seen a few builds with 225/40 and 245/35 on 18 x 9.5 but I don't remember if they ran 8.5 in the front. Either way 225/40 would be fine for the front and with minimum stretch. Still debating on the rear tho

It's like .31" difference from +38 offset I think. Would that really make it stick out a lot more?

also don't run staggered tires on non staggered wheels. it just looks weird, really weird
Exactly what he said, all of it. Definition of functional low is different for everyone. More low, less tire.

They fit with no fender mods and very little rubbing.
Will 235/40 rub if it's only 1 inch drop versus your 2 inch?

I played with the calculator but I can't tell how much stretch there is on that set up. Any experience with ride comfort? This is my dd. Don't want it too rough lol
