HKS EL or Tomei EL?

It will be my first time swapping my stock header to an aftermarket one and i'm stuck choosing between the two of either Tomei Expreme EL or HKS EL. I want to know if anyone has any dyno results for either two. Which one would you guys recommend better and why? Thanks.

No, nobody in the history of man has ever owned or dynoed these two headers.
I mean there isn't even a sticky for such a thing.

Guess you're just gonna have to set fire to the car.

Do yourself, your car, and your wallet a favor. And get an ace header. Or just go turbo or supercharger.

JDL’s new EL header does look promising though. Also PPE makes good headers.

I know that ACE is great, but not sure how it's doing your wallet a favor lol

Lol I expected the ace fan crowd to show up

I think there are a couple threads about each, and maybe one consolidated thread on here. Just look around a bit - it's easier to use Google to search. Those two are good headers, and plenty of other options out there that can give you a good power bump for reasonable cost. Also keep an eye on the classifieds here, usually a few headers for sale.

Who's going to be tuning your car? Ask them.

If it's you/OFT then pick the one that looks pretty to you, you won't regret it.

Yeah I'm going to get a tune with it but I'm just a bit indecisive and just want to hear some experiences or opinions. I'm leaning more towards hks at the moment.

As bfrank said, watch the classifieds and be patient. They pop up every so often.

Been proven over and over again to have as much if not more best bang for buck. Cost 20%-100% more (although cheaper options 150-B 1180$ or 250-B 1350$ still show in stock to some vendors) and gives 20%-100% more gains. And thus will be more likely to satisfy your power desires and not have to keep throwing more money at it for more mods to never be satisfied.

Once you get a taste of some gains you always want more. And you think I just need 1 more mod to be satisfied. But like the addicts we all are,
you will always just want 1 more mod. So just get the best from the start. I have first hand experience going down the rabbit hole. Although luckily i got the ace to begin with.

Also why I said to just charge it. Bcs NA is just a tease. Or get the ace now with plans for future supercharger.

Or follow codename47 and myself, decat your stock equal length manifold. Dont just knock out the cat internally, literally section it out, less than 100.00. You have to have it tuned anyway. It’s a pretty decent unit from Subaru as it is. On a Dyno, as modified it might come up a couple horsepower short of the 650.00 to 1100.00 units. Save your money on suspension, modify what you have, I guarantee you can’t feel the 1000.00 difference on Dyno or butt Dyno.

I've seen only one direct comparison against a UEL header. It did ok, not 100% gains lol. Heck what does 100% gains even mean?!?

OP has his mind set on HKS or Tomei. I'd personally lean toward Tomei, build quality might be a bit better, but both are good headers.

Let the guy get his header of choice and a tune. Any significant gains after that will come from a blower.
