One of our other cars is a '12 Forester. Yup it's boring. It's only sort of bigger than an Impreza, I had a 12 Crosstrek before this car and didn't find it too small for most things. Yeah maybe it would have been nicer if the hatch was better designed and was as big as the inside was, it made it tough to get things in that fit inside but not through the hatch opening. Otherwise they're pretty much the same size, same platform so they actually feel pretty similar in most ways.

Kingston's a great place... wife and I go there at least once a year for a little quick overnight or weekend getaway. Love the architecture, and a couple really good restaurants. A little pricey, but worth it. Who knows.. if you're up for it, let me know when you're going to be there.. maybe we can come up and buy you a drink somewhere.

Having bashed Syracuse, just 'cause it's so much fun (and mostly deserved), there are few areas that have their own cool architecture and a few great places to have a drink and food, too. Be happy to hang out during your travels.

I was there last summer and went to a brewery downtown with my cousins, good beer and really good burgers. The street it is on is pretty cool, actually the whole neighborhood seemed alright, with shops and restaurants and it was very walkable. The state fairgrounds is huge. I'll be in the area for work in about 2 weeks also...

That's Walton St., down in the Armory Square district, and you're probably talking about the Empire Brewing Company. Used to hang out down there all the time when we first moved here, spent many evenings at the Empire back in the early 200s, and still gig down in that area occasionally. I still like the area, but the Empire isn't what it used to be. There are better burgers, and MUCH better local beers to be had these days. Armory Square is a cool area.

Going for my brother in laws retirement from the military (40 years) and only staying the one night. Wasn't joking about coming back south of the lake though. It is about the same distance to home and a much nicer drive since you don't have to go through Toronto.

What more is there to be said? Do you have news for us? Should we just rehash the same thing over and over?
It would be dead and buried by now if not for the chit chat.

The sealant is specific to this engine, and has to be ordered. It is not used on any other Toyota. I will talk to the technicians and see what they think. We have done about 10 engines so far. No problems thus far.

I would like to say to anybody in the CT area, I recommend Suburban Subaru out in Vernon. They got a new facility and are very transparent with you throughout the entire process. Great people and very understanding people to work with as well.

Just talked to one of the master techs. His theory is that some technicians are using too much sealant, and it is getting in the oil journals. On one of the rebuilds at another dealership, they left a shop rag behind the timing cover.
