Me too. Lapped ORP first time this May. Fun to re live it CCW style with your footage! I’m kinda new to track driving. Any other tracks in the region that are more like ORP, less like PIR?

Most tracks are not like ORP. It’s pretty unique. Pacific Raceways and The Ridge have elevation change and some technical bits but the closest track I can think of that is par with ORP’s weirdness is Thunderhill in Northern California.

Reminds me very much of Thunderhill.

Pacific Raceways with commentary
Added some commentary to the pacific raceways race. The guy in the red 15 was with me last weekend at Portland but things got too busy to do a commentary over the video while we were down there. Hopefully in the future we can get the group of us together and chat through one of them.

Running the Ridge this Saturday the 17th. Mostly to dial my car in a little better running my SX2's. May throw the RT660's on for a session or two.
Also running the full weekend of the 24-25th at the Ridge. This is a joint event with SCCA TT and GTA. There is also supposed to be drift demo's and a car show. I believe the grandstands and the bridge to the top are up and open. A lot more of the track should be viewable if it is.

I canceled my entry yesterday for that TT weekend on the 24th. With national tour and national pro, it's hard to go hard for a 3rd weekend in a row.

How's the new pavement at Ridge? I haven't been able to go in 2 years now due to US/Canada border closures (I'm in Vancouver, BC)

I won't get to experience it myself until tomorrow, but I heard it is quite an improvement. The transitions onto the curbing are much smoother so you can use more of the track. General consensus is about 2 sec faster.

Edit: Forgot to mention. Taking the bridge to the top you can see turns 6-13 from the grandstands.

He does what I do in Turn 1 and I hate it and I know it can be done better - I've seen it done better but I haven't executed it yet. He (and I) do the 3 step boogie: Braking early, then driving through, then braking again... It would be nice to brake for T1 much later, but in a straight line across the track from driver's right through the apex on drivers left back out to drivers right again. That would take you to the very edge of the track via trail braking but you'll be setup perfectly for T2. I have seen this done in front of me a few years back and the difference was several car lengths. Example: Red/Green is typical way through T1 - Lime/Orange is the theory. Click to see full size.
