Speaking of Crossovers...

Cadillac is doing a "virtual reveal" of their first eCrossover, the Lyriq, tonight at 7PM EDT on the press website.

I think this will be our first hint of where GM plans to go with EVs since they've said Cadillac will be their first all-electric divison. Hopefully, they won't disappoint.

The maintenance on a car is pretty constant regardless of it's age. My 2004 Suburban costs no more or less to maintain than it would have when it was new.

Unless you are including repairs as maintenance.
I meant in his three year leases, he just lays for oil changes And rarely has to do tires and brakes before turning in the car for the next lease. And yes I agree he is likely paying for it in the lease price. My point was going from lease to lease is the most expensive, but convenient and you get a new car.

I have a friend who leases both his and his wife’s car. They always have new cars. He’s got the money, but with what he has spent I can do so many better things.

I only owned new cars over the last 10 years, typically for less than 3 years........

Until I killed my 86 and went looking for a new car, nothing really floated my boat so I ended up with a 20 year old V8 sedan.

Weird thing is, after having all the modern conveniences that new cars give, I'm happier now rolling in the old girl.

So much so, that I'm not looking for a new car now, I'm actually looking for something even older and simpler.

Will it handle like my old 86, not likely, will it be faster than my old 86, most definitely, and it will definitely have more presence.

Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I'm over playing speed racer when I go for a cruise.

Maybe it's the fun from driving a big torque monster around.

I am currently trying to find some steel bumper car to start the project.

It will have some "modern features though, I have grown to accustomed to air conditioning and power steering to give those 2 luxuries away for a daily driver.

TL;DR New cars have no soul.
