Although I'm a huge advocate for public safety and mask wearing, I can't stand them either. Like, I get the whole small sacrifice I preach, but yeah it sucks a lot.

Well, that does happen, and not just in vaccine waiting areas.

I've been thinking about ways to make a custom fit setup that actually fits my face and that's it, no one else. Or even trying to start a trend with some cool full face/head mask.

I don't mind the mask, but the ergonomics aren't there. Doctors should get better!

Wasn't there a Kickstarter for some "stylish" astronaut looking helmet for this reason?

Masks don't bother me because I've basically worn some version of one my entire life for most my hobbies and professional career (motorcycles, woodworking, construction, working for reference medical labs, hospitals, special chemical companies, etc).

That said, last week when I was at urgent care for what turned out to be a bronchial infection with a fever, and they had the waiting room way too warm I ended up having to go sit in my car so I could take my mask off. I was barely able to breath, the air inside the mask was so hot.

I am thinking that somehow an antimicrobial fabric would be a good thing if it isn't already used.

Over the winter I had dry skin around my eyes that I never experienced before. When I breathe the moist air blows up the mask to my eyes a bit and bending the nose wire isn't completely effective. But I'm really not required to wear a mask much longer than a trip to the supermarket anyway.

I like my camo 2 ply mask, it's durable. Just need to give it a rinse and dry from time to time. I'm sure some people almost never do.

I'm hoping an anti-masker insists on having surgery without masks used.

I have my reusable 2 layer masks that my friend made for me. I just insert another reusable 2 layer mask that my work provided us because the primary mask is older, plus I never know if I have covid and am just asymptomatic. I try to be respectful of my coworkers, but unfortunately many can't even wear their masks correctly or use the correct type of mask, i.e. some use neck gaiters.

But it's chic and stylish, and goes with business suits

Yeah, I can't see where one would wear one of those. I actually didn't read who the target audience is for them.

I don't _mind_ it per se and I'll wear it as long as is necessary, but yeah the whole concept could use some work.

I know in Japan they have those plastic visor-like things that cover the mouth but are clear.

I just get tired of my glasses getting fogged up if I'm in the wrong environment for two minutes, lol.

Finally scheduled an appointment.

Next Tuesday at Rite-Aid, Pfizer.

I guess an extra week of waiting isn't too bad, and at least I don't need to feel overly guilty that I'm cutting the line or something.
