Dude, I'm bad at cooking too! This is literally the easiest thing in the world to make.

You just mix some flour, yeast, and salt, and then mix with water, mix till all dry stuff is gone. Let it sit for 12-24 hours on the counter, then put in the fridge for 3 days, then basically plop it out, let it rest for a couple hours, then put in the oven.

It's so easy and according to where I got the recipe, even if you mess up the amount of ingredients a bit it's usually very forgiving.

The hardest part is really just the 4 days of waiting.

French bread is an artisan loaf.

"artisan loaves are generally made by hand using longer and more traditional processes. ... Flour, water, salt and yeast are the key ingredients of most artisan breads - and a lack of chemical additives in its ingredients list is a sign that it is truly artisan. "

Try pound cake:

One pound each of flour, sugar, butter, and eggs.

So what did I miss?

Lots of firsts for me yesterday. First flight on a private jet, first time sitting backwards in an airplane, first time they rolled out the fire brigade for my plane when we landed...

First time seeing somebody coming towards me the wrong way down an exit ramp, first time in Texas outside an airport, first time eating Whataburger (better than in-n-out but not as good as five guys) first time being a passenger going the wrong way down a divided highway.

In that order. It was a looooong day.

Today was much better.

i always understood whataburger and in-n-out to be above five guys by locals descriptions.

They are both way cheaper than five guys, but the latter's food quality (in terms of taste, texture, and presentation at least) is substantially higher IMO. I think people of a certain region will tend to say the chain that started in said region is better, so maybe that's where it comes from.

There are 211 pages of threads in the Wheels | Tires | Spacers | Hub section of this forum.

Being a n00b to this platform, I've gone through all of them and can report that every question I might have ever had, and some I'd have never of thought of, have been answered sans one.

Why do people brag about having the fourth stickiest tyre?
